The Who, What, Why and Where

Twilio’s Enterprise Security (EntSec) team is responsible for setting and maintaining the standard for corporate assets. EntSec engineers support this mission by working across the organization to identify non-compliant assets, offices, or individuals, and lead the effort to remediate the issue, wherever it arises. The M&A security engineer will do so across all of Twilio’s current acquisitions, and whenever a new opportunity for acquisition arises. The engineer will be responsible for documenting best practices, spearheading the standardization effort across all offices, and working with the Risk team to reduce the risk of said acquisitions, whenever possible. 

Who?

Twilio is looking for an exceptional security engineer who lives the Twilio Magic and has demonstrated success supporting M&A efforts. They also have:

  • 2+ years experience within a dynamically changing enterprise environment
  • 2+ years experience around building and enforcing standards. 
  • 1+ years experience with corporate security teams. 
  • Previous M&A experience (technical)
  • Demonstrated success working with cross-functional teams, and leading the effort for project completion. 
  • Commitment to sharing experiences and good security practices with the community
  • Bachelor’s degree in information security, information technology, computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • WRITE IT DOWN: Creating, maintaining, and auditing requests against formalized Enterprise Security requirements pre-acquisition.
  • BE AN OWNER: post-acquisition, meet with project managers, and subject matter experts to develop an in-depth plan to bring the acquisition up to Twilio’s established standards. 
  • BE AN OWNER: Contributing to our in-house Wiki library, to ensure knowledge doesn’t stay isolated
  • NO SHENANIGANS: Developing a cross-platform procedure to audit past acquisitions against established standards, and create a plan for remediation
  • DRAW THE OWL: Lead the charge for standardization among best practices, documentation efforts, and remediation plans concerning mergers and acquisitions
  • EMPOWER OTHERS: Developing relationships between the teams, to enhance the Enterprise Security Team’s ability to make decisions based on multi-team feedback.
