The Who, What, Why and Where

Twilio is looking for a Senior Manager of Strategic Sourcing who will manage key categories of spend and lead strategic sourcing initiatives across the business. We want someone who can strategically partner with business unit leaders, specifically, in Marketing, Sales, Workplace services (i.e. Facilities), HR, Finance, and Legal; someone who can facilitate the entire sourcing process and closely collaborate with business unit heads to negotiate, select and award business to suppliers.

Who?

Twilio is looking for a procurement leader who is  analytical and passionate and lives the Twilio Magic with a demonstrated track record of delivering multi million dollar hard savings in the areas of Marketing, HR, Real/Estate & Facilities, Contingent Workforce and other non-tech commodities. They also have:

  • 5+ years experience in a senior procurement role in marketing or consulting.
  • Experience in Sourcing - supporting Sales, Marketing, Facilities, Legal, CS and/or HR
  • Experience leveraging Coupa, NetSuite or other systems for vendor spend management
  • Deep knowledge of key contract language and terms and strong understanding of structuring and drafting various contracts including NDAs, MSA, MPA, Service orders and software licensing agreements
  • Proven record of understanding Marketing business and establishing Quarterly business review (QBR) process to measure and monitor supplier’s performance
  • Superior negotiation skills, developed through corporate sourcing hands-on experience
  • Strong influencing skills that can be used to build partnerships with internal resources as well as Twilio’s supply base

 What?

As a Senior Manager of Strategic Sourcing, you will be responsible for delivering savings, conducting category spend analysis, understanding market supply landscape, as well as, living the Twilio Magic values:

  • WRITE IT DOWN: Develop opportunity plan on cost savings strategy for non-tech categories (Marketing, Sales, HR, etc.)
  • BE AN OWNER: Lead the development and negotiation of contracts with new suppliers and/or the renegotiation of existing contracts in collaboration with privacy, security and legal teams to deliver savings and mitigate risks for Twilio
  • BE BOLD: Drive penetration of sourcing throughout the designated functions by sharing sourcing value proposition and policy changes through roadshow
  • EMPOWER OTHERS: Work closely with your business owners and procurement ops team to optimize the procure-to-pay process
  • NO SHENANIGANS: Support Twilio’s long-term strategic planning efforts for sourcing and supplier management while delivering on tangible savings and ensuring ROI 
  • DRAW THE OWL: Develop Supplier QBR and scorecard templates; work closely with legal to develop master agreements and SOWs
  • DON’T SETTLE: Drive request for information (RFI) and request for proposals (RFP) with vendors.  Manage the entire bid to business award to contract execution process
