Who?

Twilio is looking for a Senior Product Designer for our Design Systems team. In this role, you will be empowered to create a best-in-class, usable, and inclusive-by-default platform that helps product designers and engineers express and build sophisticated user experiences. Your work will involve defining and designing robust, easy-to-use, and reusable components, patterns, and flows. You’ll think platform-first, and prioritize high communication, great documentation, and optimize for clarity. You’ll shepherd the changing needs of Twilio’s UX over the coming years. As a Designer on the Design Systems team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Be a core contributor of, and maintain the Design System library, which is used by the entire Product Design Practice at Twilio.
  • Maintain components, symbols, and libraries in Sketch, and ensure that their code implementations are consistent.
  • Regularly check-in with developers, designers, and customers about their experience with Twilio’s interfaces, and apply learnings back to the system.
  • Consistently audit the accessibility and hardiness of individual components, complex patterns, and documented examples to ensure that they’re reflecting our most current thinking and visual language.
  • Consider vectors of accessibility, localization, and inclusion to make the system accessible to everyone.
  • Collaborate with Brand, Marketing, and Product to ensure a cohesive visual language across the entire Twilio customer experience.
  • Constantly consider the tooling, barriers to entry, and implementation challenges that our teams face, and find ways to make them better.
  • You will truly feel at home in this team if you approach work with humility, collaborate with fellow product designers and researchers, and are able to state your point of view with clarity.
