Twilio is growing rapidly and is looking for a talented, passionate and curious Software Architect to be a key leader in extending Twilio’s platform to International customers. This person will drive definition,  alignment and implementation of our longer term technology strategy for our global infrastructure and internationalized platforms. This role will work across the company to drive common understanding and ensure that technology investments enable that future. This position is critical in supporting Twilio’s International expansion and will have a wide impact across Twilio’s platform.

Twilio is looking for a leader who lives the Twilio Magic and has a demonstrated track record of direction technology decisions across a wide array of technologies over multi-year timelines.

  • You are experienced and understand the advantages and tradeoffs to microservices architectures.
  • You are experienced with the full stack, from infrastructure to backend services, to front end technologies
  • You have experience with multi-region architectures and understand topics like data replication and consistency, failover patterns, isolated failure domains, etc.
  • You are passionate about engineering hygiene and operational excellence. You have the know-how to build an engineering organization that delivers it.
  • You love to make an impact and thrive in collaborative, energetic teams.
  • You can own multiple disparate sets of areas and you are able to distill complex and ambiguous situations into actionable plans for your team.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to translate between strategic business decisions and their quantitative implications

  • Thinks critically and objectively; has excellent problem solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions based on business demands
  • Detail-oriented with great organizational skills, comfortable with ambiguity

In accordance with applicable law, the following represents Twilio's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role if hired in Colorado. Please note that this information is provided for those hired in Colorado only, and this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado as well. 

Salary:

Denver/Boulder Metro:

$177,024.00 - $221,280.00

Rest of Colorado:

$165,960.00 - $207,450

Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.
