The Who, What, Why and Where

Twilio’s Partner Practice Development Technical Writers distill Twilio’s products & documentation into engaging learning content for our largest and most innovative Consulting and Resell Partners. In the spirit of building strong Twilio Practices within each and every Twilio Partner, the Partner Practice Development team is seeking a Center of Excellence Technical Writer to deliver training and learning content in support of our Partners. This role will create written, video, and interactive content on how to create solutions with Twilio Products and related services.

Who?

We are looking for a Technical Writer to produce written content for our Partners. You may be a match if you have:

  • 2-3 years’ industry experience as an effective technical writer, content writer or similar
  • Experience with programming, cloud technologies, APIs, React, Javascript
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
  • Ability to explain the topics clearly in text and pictures
  • Previous experience writing native quality English documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Experience working with SMEs to refine content and create visuals and diagrams to support technical content
  • Additional skills are a plus: 
    • Knowledge of Contact Center, Sales & Sales Engineering domains 
    • Knowledge of Partner ecosystem
    • Experience building MVPs/POCs/Code demos

  • COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY. You will be asked to produce content for a variety of end users, from product documentation for front-line engineers to program briefs intended for executives. Are you able to articulate effectively for a variety of customer bases?
  • BUILD WITH EMPATHY. Twilio ships products and programs that delight our Partners. You are expected to know your Partners and walk in their shoes. Can you help translate difficult technical concepts to written words that resonate strongly?
  • BE AN OWNER. We expect every Twilio employee to operate in their role without explicit instructions. You will be handed incredible autonomy to forge your path and define the future of high-quality content creation within the company. With this autonomy, however, will come desired outcomes. Will you be able to create a path from concept to delivery without a guide?
  • PRIORITIZE RUTHLESSLY. Each and every product and program will benefit from clearer communication and writing. Every request is the highest priority. While we strive to help all customers and respond compassionately, will you be able to identify requests that have the most impact and prioritize ruthlessly?
  • COLLABORATE EFFECTIVELY. Content written in isolation is doomed to fail. We expect all content creators at Twilio to operate and iterate within their teams, continuously fostering feedback, guidance, and ideas on how to communicate more effectively. Will you be able to create the right feedback loop and creative process to incorporate others’ input appropriately?

In accordance with applicable law, the following represents Twilio's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role if hired in Colorado. Please note that this information is provided for those hired in Colorado only, and this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado as well. 

Salary:

Denver/Boulder Metro:

Salary Range: $82,496 - $113,432

Rest of Colorado:

Salary Range: $72,184 - $99,253

Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.
