ABOUT THE PRODUCT TEAM
Varo’s product team is a cornerstone of the culture and the app experiences that our customers interact with on a daily basis. We’re responsible for making sure the products we ship provide innovative solutions that solve real problems for people.

ABOUT THE PRODUCT LEAD, DIGITAL IDENTITY ROLE
We are currently seeking a Product Lead for Digital Identity to lead and implement our roadmap for digital identity authentication, with the goal of enabling more Americans to benefit of Varo. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, make a big impact, and help us scale Varo Bank.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead and implement the product roadmap for digital authentication of customer identity, optimizing for approval rates, fraud rates, customer engagement, and cost of 3rd party solutions and staffing required to support authentication
  • Collaborate effectively with other groups to create optimal solutions, e.g., Growth, BSA/AML, and Risk Management
  • Act as business owner for all onboarding and authentication models and ensure they are documented, validated and monitored in compliance with model risk governance.
  • Strategize and iteratively develop new solutions with Risk Management, Data Science, Engineering, and Operations to combat changing fraud patterns and new vectors.
  • Write and present detailed product deliverables on key initiatives to executives and stakeholders.
  • Get involved with industry meet-ups and associations to stay on top of new trends and best practices.
  • Roll up your sleeves to remove barriers and obstacles hindering the team's ability to ship.
  • Evangelize risk, fraud, and compliance initiatives across Varo.
  • Monitor product performance, understand the “why” of your domain, and propose improvements.
  • Lead technical story-writing and write stories yourself as needed to move quickly
  • SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES THAT'LL MAKE YOU GREAT

  • Leadership role in digital identity authentication at a leading fintech or financial services firm
  • Experience implementing and managing leading 3rd party solutions in digital identity authentication
  • Experience managing complex models
  • Ability to partner and collaborate with cross functional partners, e.g., Risk Management, Data Science, Engineering and Operations, to make decisions that optimize across multiple stakeholders and business drivers
  • Ability to set the strategy but also get into the details to deliver strong solutions
  • Experience working at a technical level, understanding APIs and data.
  • An analytical and a growth mindset and understanding of data systems.
  • Strong organizational and communications skills and comfort with ambiguity.
  • You have at least 10+ years of experience as a product manager with substantial experience in identity authentication.
  • Masters degree preferred.
