ABOUT THE ROLE
Varo Technology group is looking for a Senior Manager of AI/ML who will grow & lead a team of talented Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) engineers to build & develop AI/ML platform to deploy scalable ML systems and AI applications. You will evolve, create, and implement Varo's strategic AI/ML platform vision for years to come. One of Varo's core values is Customer First. This role will support the Data Science team in developing customer-facing models as well as backend models. This role will lead the integration of models into product experience by making it production-ready.

This role will report directly to the CTO and partner closely with Data Science and other business stakeholders across Varo to identify ML opportunities, accelerate AI innovation, and ensure the delivery of impactful solutions for the business.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Build, deploy and maintain AI/ML platform to scale models penetration as well as to support organization scale. 
  • Responsible for taking models to production and post-production activities like deployments, feature store, monitoring, model performance, explainability, and re-training of models. 
  • Build and lead a world-class team of ML and AI engineers.
  • Be a hands-on leader to mentor the team in the latest machine learning and deep learning approaches, and to introduce new technologies and processes.
  • Work with ML engineers to design solution architecture and develop a scalable machine learning system to accelerate the learning cycle.
  • Partner with data science & business stakeholders to Identify applied science opportunities that deliver business value.
  • Develop AI/ML roadmap, and educate both internal and external stakeholders at all levels to drive implementation and measurement.
  • Provide thought leadership to enable AI/ML applications.
  • Partner-up with Technical Project Management (TPM) organization to ensure timely delivery.

    • SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES THAT'LL HELP YOU BE GREAT

  • Masters in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or other equivalent quantitative fields
  • 5+ years of work experience in Machine Learning and AI with a proven track record to drive innovation and business impacts
  • 3+ years of managing a team of over 5 AI and ML engineers
  • Experience building and deploying ML platform with explainability and model governance.
  • Strong machine learning and experience in deploying machine learning algorithms and advanced modeling solutions
  • Experience in developing featurization and ML infrastructure and system
  • Experience in microservices, real-time messaging, and cloud is needed.
  • Self-starter and self-motivated with the proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex problems to a non-technical audience
  • Works effectively with cross-functional teams to build a trusted partnership
  • Working experience in the consumer-focused finance industry preferred
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
