ABOUT VARO
Varo is an entirely new kind of bank. All digital, mission driven, FDIC insured, and designed for the way our customers live their lives.

We're on a mission to bring financial inclusion and opportunity to all hard-working Americans. Through our mobile app, we offer premium bank accounts that have no minimum balance requirement or monthly account fees, high-interest savings accounts, short term lending and solutions to help customers stretch their paycheck, build credit and start saving. Our tech-first products are designed to make money work for everyone and help customers and communities build greater financial resiliency.

Varo is distinct from other fintechs: we've made history as the first and only consumer fintech to be granted a full national bank charter by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

Varo Bank represents the evolution of a new generation of banks that are born from innovation and built on technology to empower consumers and businesses.

Our team combines the best of both consumer tech and banking, and we’re wildly passionate about helping our customers. Our teams are based in San Francisco and Salt Lake City. Privately held, we’ve raised over $482M to date, from leading institutional investors and strategic partners including Warburg Pincus, The Rise Fund, Gallatin Point Capital, Harbourvest Partners, Progressive Insurance, and Russell Westbrook Enterprises.

Varo is entrepreneurial, collaborative, enthusiastic, customer-oriented, fast-paced, and multicultural.  This is an open and relatively flat organization that puts an emphasis on collaboration, sharing ideas and information. For a relatively early stage company, Varo is grounded in a strong set of values and takes pride in the diversity of its employees and board.

Varo. A bank for all of us.

ABOUT THE PEOPLE TEAM
The People Team is small and responsible for championing our culture and creating a great experience for those who seek to work, grow, and build a career with us. We are strategic business partners and talent advisors who create, support, and execute people programs.

We support our great place to work by building a foundation to live our values, creating a high-performance culture for those who are eager to be: engaged, innovative, accountable, and recognized for their fantastic work. We’re responsible for making sure our company values come alive within an amazing employee experience.

ABOUT THE TALENT PARTNER ROLE
We are looking for a versatile recruiter to help us build out and grow our Draper operations center. This role will be focused on managing our high-volume call center recruiting. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their ability to operate independently and deliver on the expected results.

You will help to refine processes in our recruiting organization and deliver a great candidate experience with measurable data outputs. We are looking for someone who has a passion for their work, has worked on recruiting at scale, enjoys solving problems, can implement organizational tools and processes for the department, and does not take themselves too seriously.

What you'll do

  • Source and hire great talent aligned to our vision
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to deeply understand the needs of the business as a key business partner
  • You own the candidate experience, make it great!
  • Actively participate in continuous feedback and improvement of our Talent Acquisition tools and processes
  • Use our ATS, Lever, to drive your process and help us track where we can improve
  • Help us build the recruiting function
  • We are in startup mode and need help with the building blocks

  • The above represents the primary duties of the position. Other duties may be added as time goes on. We hope to find someone who is curious and excited to expand their responsibilities.
  • Required skills and experiences

  • A successful track record as an inhouse OR agency recruiter, evidence of great results needed
  • Passionate about technology or banking or both
  • Track record of process improvement as a recruiter
  • Skilled with LinkedIn Recruiter along with experience with different recruiting tools
  • Your current and former hiring managers rave about you because of your communication and reporting; they rest easy knowing recruiting is in safe hands
  • You are an excellent communicator, both written and spoken
  • You can coordinate internally and don't let balls drop
  • Team first attitude: willing to pick up new challenges wherever they arise

  • The three skills that matter most
Nobody can be great at everything, but we're looking for candidates who are extraordinary at:
  • Sourcing
  • Managing hiring managers
  • Closing candidates
