The Global Analytics Tech team enables end-to-end visibility and data-driven performance management across Wayfair’s 10,000+ person Operations group. The team’s culture is founded by analytical thinking, product innovation and impactful results, in order to allow stakeholders to tackle complex global operational challenges. The team helps unlock the value of Wayfair’s data assets by working closely with engineers and business partners to create data structures, metrics, visualizations, and self-serve data environments; establishing the foundation towards proactive/predictive business modelling and process optimization.

As a Senior Manager within the Global Analytics Tech team, you will bridge the understanding of a department's needs and pain points with your team’s deliverables (deep dive, design, develop, and maintain a suite of products). You will combine a strong knowledge of the business with exemplary technical and visualization skills, to own and deliver the right solution for the right business problem and the right audience.

What You’ll Do

  • Align with senior leadership/directors of business units on their 6-12 month reporting roadmap. Break that down into actionable blocks of work for your team.
  • Act as a thought leader to innovate, challenge and improve the current norms and culture of how Operations looks at data and makes decisions.
  • Manage a team of 2 to 3 leads (with skip-level management of 5-6 Analysts) to conceptualize and support the development of easy-to-use data products that support the business in understanding and developing trends.
  • Become the subject matter expert for data, analytics, and testing within the Supply Chain & Operations organization to ensure accurate and proper interpretation of core business KPIs/metrics and consumer behavior
    • Perform deep-dive analysis, including the application of advanced analytical techniques, to solve some of the more critical and complex business problems.

 

Who you are:

  • Have 8+ years of progressive experience in an analytics, business intelligence, data science or engineering role performing quantitative analysis and reporting.
  • Highly collaborative, open minded with a “customer first” attitude; able to deliver net-optimal outcomes across teams and competing priorities.
  • Team leadership experience, and proven track record of developing junior team members
  • 2-4 years of experience with cloud data management and SQL
    • Proficient knowledge of PL/SQL (incl. aggregate functions, joins, etc. Experience with Google sql is a plus). 
    • Other structured programming languages (Python, R) for data analysis are a plus
  • Knowledge of leading trends and best practices in Business Intelligence and Data Visualization
    • Proficient with data visualization tools like Looker and Data Studio
  • Extensive experience synthesizing insights using Data Analysis Tools i.e.Excel, Google Sheets, Pandas or Numpy
  • Able to understand a highly interconnected technical and strategic landscape
    • Solution-oriented & curious intellectual mindset and curiosity
    • Strong written and verbal communication with a team player, highly collaborative attitude
    • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
