The new Shopping Tools group at Wayfair will be focusing on innovative support for users on complex shopping journeys. It will enable omnichannel tools for users to solve design and renovation projects to create a space they love. 

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Visualization team with the Shopping Tools pod, to give our users confidence in their purchase by letting them see what it will look like in real life. This includes developing cutting edge experiences with 3D, XR on web and native app. The Engineering Manager will take cross-functional ownership of the team’s roadmap, drive its capabilities and platform, and create significant business outcomes. 

What You'll Do

  • Partner directly with your product and design counterparts to define the strategy of your product suite and build the roadmap for your team 
  • Build and lead a high performing engineering team to drive measurable cross-functional results
  • Identify and deliver greenfield solutions to push the boundaries of cutting edge experiences
  • Build systems that are high quality, with effective system boundaries: APIs that are easily discoverable and are used by other teams; well-defined, visible SLIs and SLOs
  • Accountable for teams' output and ensures deliverables are on time and of high quality (including scalability, performance, and stability), with measurable outcomes
  • Act as an organization - go to and mentor for peers and engineers alike.

What You'll Need

  • A track record as a charismatic leader who has a combination of business acumen and technical skills
  • Prior experience running a team of up to 15 engineers
  • Tech acumen and ability to get hands on with the code whenever need be
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Hands on experience designing, building and maintaining systems at scale
  • Experience working with Native App (Android or iOS) 
  • Exceptional communication and project management skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse, talented team
  • Depth with customer-facing solutions.

Nice to Have 

  • Experience working with 3D/XR
  • Masters in computer science or another related field preferred
