Wayfair is seeking Regional Assistant Directors of Human Resources to support our Physical Retail network in one of two regions - Central US, East US. These roles are remote and will be located one in each region.

As a Regional Assistant Director, Human Resources, you take a regional approach to your work and think holistically about the network in the areas of hiring, developing, engaging and retaining top talent.  You will work with our business leaders to understand business objectives, help craft approaches to our People Principles that enables the achievement of these goals, be a partner in solving the challenges that may exist across sites, help to drive effective change management, and train our leaders in the key components of maintaining an independent workforce across a wide network. 

What You'll Do

  • Roadmap with the Talent/Human Resource leadership team to craft organization-wide strategies relating to our People Principles by driving the Wayfair Talent approach, ensuring uniformity and scale across units.
  • Establish a high standard of excellence – cooperating with relevant stakeholders at Corporate Office and unit level to deliver the highest possible standard of employee experience
  • Responsible for communicating multi-unit needs to the relevant function at the Corporate Level (e.g., Training and Development)
  • Responsible for all Talent issues escalated beyond the Unit - responsible for involving relevant specialists from Talent functions as needed (e.g., Employee Relations)
  • Ensure close cooperation across the Talent organization by providing operational support and guidance to the Unit Talent/Human Resources Business Partners across a region/city as their matrix partner.
  • Responsible for supporting the recruitment of and on-boarding of the Unit Talent/Human Resources Business Partners
  • Help iterate and refine our site health scorecards, enabling predictive decisions based on the data and people metrics.
  • Support the evaluation, design and implementation of company policies that align with our culture.
  • Drive insights from data, evaluate existing strategies and formulate plans in conjunction with site leaders, working with members across multiple teams to execute plans relating to our talent.
  • Steer performance management and conduct 9 box sessions to evaluate the progress, future development and succession planning of talent at sites within the region.
  • Understand and prioritize the business needs and projects that arise during the year.
  • Collaborate with Wayfair talent partners to share and develop best practices and drive consistency of these practices across the network.
  • Travel with purpose - this will vary depending on site openings, business needs and growth of existing sites, up to and including 50%. 

What You'll Need

  • 10+ years of HR strategic management experience
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
  • Experience managing across multiple locations or a large-scale operation
  • Excellent problem solver with a proven track record of driving results
  • Proven ability to effectively and respectfully work with individuals at varying levels within an organization
  • Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to successfully provide relevant and immediate feedback in a fast-paced and complex environment
  • Able to create, analyze, report and manipulate data as it relates to HR metrics
  • Knowledge of how to set direction, create and manage long-term plans and follow up on KPI’s
  • Knowledge of how to anticipate, identify and develop potential successors for key positions at Wayfair
  • Knowledge of different leadership styles and understands the needs and appropriate use in different situations
  • Applies business knowledge and leverages best practices to achieve organizational goals and deliver results and objectives
