Who We Are

Wayfair believes everyone deserves a home they love, and that furnishing your home should be a source of fun, not anxiety. Our Product team plays a crucial role in making this vision a reality for millions of people around the world. Partnering with Engineering, Experience Design, Analytics and business leaders across Wayfair, our Product team ensures that we’re building technology that solves important customer problems in elegant, scalable, measurable ways.

We’re tackling a wide array of fascinating, incredibly difficult problems - like helping a massive, rapidly growing global customer base efficiently find the perfect products from our catalog of >22M items (with the majority of traffic on mobile), helping a variety of suppliers (some small, some big) find new customers for their products and build their brands. We have sophisticated capabilities around AI, data science, multivariate testing and personalization. And we’re a highly collaborative, supportive team that values learning, psychological safety and intentional career development.

In this role, you will shape the strategy and direction of how suppliers can control consumer experiences for their products on wayfair. This is an evolution from our traditional strategy where wayfair’s business teams set merchandising standards on how products are displayed. To illustrate this with a simple example, imagine a supplier has an image and video for a product. Currently, Wayfair business teams decide if the product page shows the image first or the video first. In the future, we would like suppliers to make this decision in many  cases.

We are looking for an experienced leader to lead this charter. The leader will work with UXR to understand supplier and customer needs, build a strategy and roadmap for supplier controls (e.g. deciding the controls to give to a supplier cohort), work with multiple engineering teams to deliver the roadmap and work with data scientists to measure the value. This role is complex across multiple dimensions:

  • Product: The high number of controls creates complexity to product discovery such as dependencies between controls. E.g. how would supplier control vary across dimensions like class, brand, price and market, etc.
  • Organizational: This initiative touches a large number of engineering teams, each of which have their own objectives
  • Technical: These changes touch multiple foundational codebases on critical customer experiences (e.g. imagery tray order) which will require extensive testing before rollout.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with user research teams to figure out supplier and customer needs
  • Set the product vision and strategy
  • Build and maintain product roadmap along with constantly monitoring the success and measuring the impact of product/feature development
  • Work with analytics and data science to rollout the new experiences and measure the impact

What You’ll Need

  • 10+ years of experience building high-impact products
  • Ability to think and perform both tactically and strategically
  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights
  • Deep understanding of business strategy and metrics
  • Ability to multi-task and work well within a dynamic, fast-paced organization
  • Positive, people-oriented, and energetic attitude
  • Cross-functional leadership experience
