About The Team

The Small Parcel Transportation Planning team is responsible for determining the most optimal way for Wayfair to ship our FedEx/UPS eligible product through carrier networks - a task that becomes increasingly complex as Wayfair continues to grow. We are hiring an Associate Director to lead the planning team supporting all of our North American shipping, from both our CastleGate fulfillment network and our vast Dropship supplier network. In this role, you will lead initiatives that unlock the capacity we’ll need to support Wayfair’s rapid growth, all while driving improvements in week-on-week “run” processes to improve speed and reliability for our customers. 

What you'll do

  • Establish the vision for the future of Small Parcel Planning, unlocking customer-facing speed through establishing predictable network capacity
  • Sit at the intersection of weekly “run” functions and initiatives that support rapid growth
  • Leverage an analytical mindset and customer-centric instincts to build for future growth, defining roadmaps in collaboration with technology partners and cross-functional teams
  • Drive continuous improvement in recurring planning processes for steady-state and high volume events
  • Lead and develop a team of managers and analysts

A strong candidate will likely bring:

  • 8+ years of experience or 3+ years of post-MBA experience, experience in a planning function preferred 
  • Experience leading a team and partnering with a broad set of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience leading a central operations function
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to tailor communication style to the audience
  • Ability to thrive in a high growth, entrepreneurial, and ambiguous environment
