Who We Are

Asian Supplier Growth is a newly established team within our Category Management organization in Europe and is responsible for identifying, onboarding and scaling a portfolio of Asian suppliers across our European business. The team is tasked with solving complex business problems encompassing  merchandising, operations, marketing and pricing to achieve hyper growth of this supplier segment in Europe.

As Category Manager for Asian suppliers, you would be the owner of a portfolio of businesses and would be responsible for identifying, onboarding and scaling them - solving complex business problems across merchandising, operations, marketing, and pricing to achieve hyper growth in your supplier portfolio across categories. 

Being a part of Category Management and the Asian Supplier team means you enjoy setting and driving a vision for your portfolio and operating analytically to get results. Strong communication is critical for the success of Category Manager given the interaction with almost every function and team at Wayfair, frequent dialogue with Wayfair’s CEO and C-suite team to ensure alignment is tight and priorities are agreed upon. Due to the strategic importance of this role, we are looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial, data driven candidate who can work well cross functionally, build and articulate the strategic vision, and develop meaningful relationships with Wayfair’s supplier base.

 

What You'll Do

  • Co-develop and execute the strategy for Wayfair Europe's partnership with Asian suppliers in close alignment with EU leadership and your counterpart in North America
  • Build Asian Supplier Portfolio: Identify, acquire, and onboard new Asian suppliers in close collaboration with the 'Supplier Acquisition and Onboarding Team'
  • Grow Asian Supplier Portfolio: Manage Asia-based supplier portfolio for growth and profitability across categories and geographies
  • Manage supplier stakeholders : Help drive deeper partnerships with key suppliers to unlock better costs and find creative savings. A critical part of the role is building long-term relationships with, negotiating with, and influencing new and existing suppliers.
  • Prepare and attend tradeshows (physically and virtually)
  • Represent Wayfair and your category towards internal and external stakeholders and act as business owner for your unit

 

What You'll Need

  • Fluent communication (spoken and written) in Mandarin and English
  • eCommerce, account management, retail or management consulting experience
  • Ability to thrive in a high growth, entrepreneurial, and ambiguous environment
  • Proven track record of successful negotiations, taking ownership, and driving results
  • An ability to hit the ground running – a confident, entrepreneurial self-starter
  • Proven Innovative problem-solving skills – dissect and determine root causes of problems and implement solutions
  • Ability to multi-task and work well within a dynamic organization
  • Comfort in technology-driven business environment
