As the Continuous Improvement Manager, you will work closely with operational teams and alongside site leadership in embedding Operational Excellence and Digital technologies consistently. You will lead, coordinate and deliver process improvement projects aligned to agreed business priorities. Your primary focus will be to deploy Operational Excellence and Digital technologies into Wayfair Logistics operations, delivering value to the business and positive outcomes measured through Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery indicators.

Responsibilities

  • Own Operational Excellence for the Wayfair EU Delivery Network
  • Develop and own the improvement roadmap to deliver against the global performance targets
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and defect reduction by building capabilities.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture that continuously seeks to eliminate risks from the operation Identify, root cause and solve opportunities as needed in support of your site’s day to day operations, especially with regards to safety, quality, productivity and workflow
  • Leading and delivering continuous improvement activities to improve operational performance and enhance colleague capability in the use of CI tools and techniques.
  • Delivering tangible and validated financial savings through Operational Excellence (OpEx) and Digital delivery.
  • Using Operational Excellence and CI tools to deliver Right First Time principles into operations.
  • Learning, sharing and adopting of best practice within Logistics and wider business.
  • Working with site leaders in applying the Group OpEx and Digital standards consistently and as measured through the Groups internal auditing process. Acting as mentor and coach for peers and high potential colleagues, ensuring there is a strong pipeline of succession.
  • Supporting and coaching Supervisors and Operational Managers with their personal development with CI, particularly OpEx elements where applicable.

About You

Essential

  • Ability to structure complex issues quickly and efficiently
  • 4+ years experience of lean ways of working
  • Demonstrable experience in process improvement/continuous improvement/lean Manager roles
  • Be able to manage multiple stakeholders and gain alignment on a single unified view
  • Influencing and persuasion skills to deliver meaningful change
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and synthesize multiple points of view into a streamlined action plan
  • Comfortable analysing data sets to build business cases to support Tech development or capital investment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • An ability to hit the ground running – a confident, entrepreneurial self-starter
  • Proficiency with Office and equivalent software packages
  • Target/results driven with ability to cope with the demands of a fast-moving and ever-changing set of priorities
  • Assertive and competent in influencing multiple stakeholders across a range of hierarchical levels from shop floor to senior management
  • Customer and Quality focused with an eye for detail
  • Analytical problem solver

Desirable

  • Background in Logistics supply chains
  • Project Management experience; strong planning, organising and time management skills
  • Work closely with senior management team and possess a sound commercial acumen
  • Good Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and Google Applications capability
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
