Senior Associate, Curated Merchandising - Joss & Main

Who We Are

Joss & Main is one of three Wayfair specialty retail brands. Alongside Birch Lane and AllModern, Joss & Main targets the $60B specialty furniture market. The Joss & Main team works hard to deliver all of modern design with ease by providing a tightly-curated assortment of high quality furniture for our style-obsessed specialty customer. We believe modern design is a standard for all, not a luxury for a few. The Content team collaborates across creative, business and marketing departments to tell an omni-channel brand story.

What You’ll Do

Joss & Main is  looking to hire a Senior Associate of Curated Merchandising to drive the product selection strategy for catalog, site content, marketing imagery and physical retail vignettes.

The Curated Merchandiser will work closely with the Content, Creative and Merchant teams to deliver inspirational imagery and in-store vignettes to support the seasonal product and content messages.  Daily responsibilities include selecting products for site & catalog content, aligning with merchant teams on assortment priorities and partnering cross-functionally to manage the curated merchandising workflow.

Our successful Curated Merchandisers have an equal passion for both business and style. They must be expert multi-taskers, have an acute focus on detail and an eye for style, and manage their workload in a highly organized way.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the product selection process for catalog and site content. Ensure product/rooms accurately reflect our core styles while continuing to push our brand forward.
  • Help drive a strategic merchandising plan to achieve revenue and engagement goals – leveraging a deep understanding of the brand, product instinct and marketplace trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Category Management, Creative, and Content to ensure our imagery and in-store vignettes are on brand, inspirational and support the seasonal product and content messages.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on industry trends; be a leader in identifying relevant market trends and partner with our category managers to bring these trends to life in our assortment.

What You’ll Need

  • The ability to think both creatively and critically; you’re willing to think outside the box while also fairly evaluating all solutions in making strategic decisions.
  • Goal oriented self-starter able to stay highly organized and juggle many projects at different stages of development
  • Eye for style; natural instincts for recognizing visually compelling furniture and décor assortment
  • Savvy, quick thinking and comfortable in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communication style based on the audience
  • Track record of success in group settings and independently; developing relationships with stakeholders, working collaboratively, and leveraging influence to drive initiatives
  • 4+ years of work experience; background in retail, interior design, or merchandising preferred
