Pay Rate: £14.37 per hour (circa £29,800 per annum)

What You'll Do:

  • Brief/debrief team of warehouse operatives at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Ensure all work flows consistently throughout the night.
  • Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded.
  • Ensure high levels of Customer Service are maintained in the Transport operation to provide best in class customer experiences at every opportunity.
  • Conduct necessary training within the department.
  • Ensure the proper functioning and safe operations of all warehouse tools and equipment.
  • Be responsible for answering email and verbal questions in a timely manner.
  • Identify training requirements of associates to allow them to carry out their roles effectively and efficiently.
  • Enforce the compliance of all Health & Safety and environmental policies and procedures by ensuring drivers carry out their duties in a safe, correct and efficient manner.
  • Work effectively with peers and managers.
  • Oversee the cleanliness of the department; Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • This is a floor position and will involve physically moving/processing products in addition to leading a team of drivers.

 

What You'll Need:

  • Minimum 1  years of  experience in the transport sector (Parcels / Large Parcels preferred) as a Team Leader, First Line Supervisor or similar level. 
  • Experienced in working within more than one department is an advantage.
  • Working understanding of the WMS system.
  • Ability to plan, manage and operationally direct and lead a team of colleagues to meet customer targets and colleague productivity targets.
  • An effective team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively.
  • Leadership and motivational skills, and the ability to work under pressure and make decisions with little to no guidance based on policies or common sense.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) or Google Suite (G-Mail, GoogleSheets,); Ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Experience with composing and replying to emails, creating and updating systems such as trouble tickets.
  • Basic analytical skills to compile reports and necessary documentation as required; Comfort with delivering and improving upon KPI’s.
