Employee Tech at Wayfair is responsible for developing, operating and supporting enterprise and end user technologies for the entire company.   This role will have a global scope and will be based in Wayfair’s European headquarters in Berlin. 

 

What You'll Do

In this high visibility role, you will lead a global functional team as well as serve as the senior leader of Employee Tech Experience.  You will collaborate across all levels of the org to ensure great technology experiences and support for Europe by identifying potential gaps and working with the local and global team to address them.   You will also manage a newly formed global team that provides essential technology services across the company. In this role, you will have the mandate to define and shape the future of the Technology Experience the Employee Tech team will offer to Wayfair globally.  Some of the current services include:

  • Technology Experience: This team serves as the portal of engagement for Employee Tech. The team works with senior stakeholders on strategic technology engagement and our end user community and mass technology updates. The team helps to identify key technology needs,  designs, pilots and solutions and drives future technology projects for Employee Tech. 
  • IT Onboarding:  Owns the vision and execution of the employee onboarding IT experience. As we continue to expand our presence in different regions, create a seamless and efficient experience for our employees where they can be productive on day one no matter what their situation is. 
  • Technology Asset Management: Guide effective procurement and management of  all IT assets (software and hardware) used at Wayfair.  Establish proper life cycles of all of the assets. 
  • Collaboration (A/V) Services: Manage and support all of A/V infrastructure at Wayfair both online and at physical collaboration used at Wayfair.  

 You will

  • Act as champion and liaison between business teams and Employee Tech.  Advocate for the end user, but help to communicate and explain tough messages to them when necessary.
  • Lead the transformation of our Employee Tech team both in the EU and globally to provide the same world class service at all locations. 
  • Be part of the senior leadership for Employee Tech and help to shape the vision and roadmap for the entire organization. Push the innovation mindset throughout the organization as we strive to be the best at everything we do.    
  • Establish what the future of Technology Services for Wayfair will look like and drive the execution. This is a newly created function and you will have the full opportunity to establish the value proposition of the team and expand the services it offers. 
  • Identify opportunity areas to further enhance global Technology Experience for Wayfair. 



What You'll Need

  • Demonstrated ability to proactively engage senior stakeholders and build partnerships. 
  • Strong communication and influencing skills where you can explain ideas from different perspectives. Being able to explain technical solutions to non technical audiences.
  • Recognize the full scope of IT solutions and always think about where the future of IT technology is moving to. Good understanding of ITSM framework such as ITIL
  • Capable of pushing team priorities against competing organizational initiatives
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects at the same time
  • Previous global team management experience especially with remote teams. 
  • Experience working with fast-paced organizations with a global footprint
  • 10 years of work experience with 7 years in leadership roles
