Wayfair is looking for an experienced Analytics leader to own the vision, strategy and implementation of our Analytics platforms and toolset leveraged by a wide range of internal users from business owners to Data Scientists. Wayfair Analytics is the engine that powers an enterprise obsessed with data. The Wayfair website generates over 100M clicks from the millions of customers that visit our sites every day to discover and purchase home goods. The Storefront Advanced Digital Analytics team is focused on understanding and optimizing customer behavior as a key enabler for the company to move fast and iterate quickly on big business problems. 

 

One of Wayfair’s key strategic priorities is to enable our teams to make thousands of decisions to improve the customer experience based on our clickstream data, customer trends, feature rollouts and experiments. Given the range of analyses, Data Science models and experiments we support, we need an analytics leader that can think of scalable solutions to enable our Analytics toolset including insights reporting, experimentation platforms, decisioning tools and performance analytics. This leader will work in partnership with our Analytics, Data Science and Engineering leadership to envision, develop and deliver technology to set the industry standards and associated toolkit for our Advanced Analytics and Applied Data Science teams. 

What You’ll Do

  • Establish and develop the strategic agenda for our Analytics Platforms and Toolset including reporting tools, data products, decisioning and automation tools and performance analytics. This platform will used used by over a thousand business leaders, analysts, engineers  and Data Scientists across Wayfair 
  • Set the tech standard across the organization for how our toolkit should scale and be deployed to communicate meaningful metrics and make thousands of decisions across different audiences within the business.
  • Lead on developing and expanding best practices in areas such as evaluating the speed performance of Wayfair’s sites, expanding our metrics to track quality and leveraging our platforms for making decisions.   
  • Engage with, influence, and partner with senior leadership across the company to contribute to strategic agenda.
  • Hire, manage and mentor leaders and leaders of leaders
  • Be a thought leader on analytics topics for various company initiatives 
  • Work with the Data Engineering and Product leadership to define the business requirements for infrastructure, third party tools and experimentation platform needs. 

What You’ll Need

Experience to craft a vision and deploy new tools and platforms Proven track record of developing an vision and strategic plan to enabling Analytics across an organization then organizing and overseeing a team to execute against it, delivering tangible results, Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience with hypothesis-driven learning and turning data into actionable insights.  5+ years of experience leading and growing highly effective teams

 

Partnership ethic that can plan and influence Ability to  work effectively cross-functionally. Excellent communication skills and presence; strong ability to translate complex subjects into easily digestible topics for a diverse audience and generate buy-in for ideas and plans. Process-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills. 

 

Manager Do’er ethic. By partnering across the business and function you’ll need to roll-up your sleeves to understand our code and programming standards as well as understand how users are deploying and using our toolkit. Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (Engineering, Computer Science, Math);  Programming experience in Python and experience with BI/Analytics Software packages (e.g., Looker, Google Analytics, Omniture, Tableau, etc) a plus
