Joining us as a Software Engineering Manager (m/f/x) you will have full ownership over both people and technical leadership topics in some of our most progressive teams, here in Berlin. This is a high-impact role, helping us redesign the supplier facing platform, which is responsible for accelerating all teams working across Partner Home towards building a cohesive supplier experience and driving supplier outcomes by providing a set of high-leverage modular components for building supplier user journeys and functionality.

Partner Home (PH) is Wayfair’s supplier-facing platform that enables our 15,000+ supplier-partners to manage and grow their business through Wayfair. We have 50+ teams in Boston and Berlin building applications and user journeys that contribute towards this mission. It is the second side of Wayfair’s two-sided marketplace, consisting of the APIs, tools, help, recommendations, and reporting that enable our suppliers to compete and win on the Wayfair brands by taking actions that create value for our 33+ million active customers.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team. 
  • Partner with your dedicated senior Product Manager for defining roadmaps, OKRs, and success metrics
  • Be accountable for the systems your team is building including technical design, development, test, monitoring, and deployment.
  • Envision, shape and deliver the technical landscape enabling a high growth organisation at scale
  • Balance calculated risks, trade-offs and consequences in prioritizing and optimizing for sustainable time-to-value and high-quality engineering.
  • Maintain and continuously improve agile delivery and engineering practices.
  • Attract, onboard, develop and retain diverse talents, while promoting an inclusive and collaborative team culture (our latest DEI Report).

What You'll Need

  • A strong background with cloud platforms, SOA, and Microservice architectures that served as business and/or technical platforms.
  • Experience of leading interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • Experience with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Hands-on software development leadership including coding, design, reviews and testing.
  • Being a passionate and engaged collaborator and communicator, with the ability to influence partners and peers at different levels.
  • Practical experience and ability to coach and advance the team’s practices with pairing/mobbing, TDD, CI/CD. 
  • Experience hiring and growing junior and senior engineers, across levels.
