We are disrupting the luxury home market by building the largest direct to consumer platform for designer home brands globally, and are well on our way.  We are looking for a General Manager to lead the concept development, launch and scaling of brick and mortar retail for Perigold in the United States.  These stores will be the physical manifestation of Perigold; a tangible way for customers to immerse themselves into our luxury house of brands.  This is the first time we will be building a bridge from our online store to the physical market.  Our goals are ambitious, and the go-to-market strategy we want to achieve is bolder than the competition. The ideal candidate is a seasoned and energetic leader with a track record of successful team building and experience in large scale brick and mortar retail strategy development and execution. Our luxury brand team operates like a venture-backed start-up within Wayfair’s already entrepreneurial culture.  To be successful in this role, you must get energy from working in a fast-paced environment, operating amidst ambiguity, and setting a strategic direction while also rolling up your sleeves.

What You’ll Do

  • Innovate - You will lead an initiative that will unlock a new revenue stream and new customer base for Perigold, and be a meaningful contributor to the brand.  You will be responsible for defining our store vision, strategy and roadmap and bringing disruptive ideas to the table to create a world class, customer-first luxury experience.
  • Lead - You will hire, develop and oversee a broad team to best drive this initiative.  Examples of key leaders you will oversee include Physical Retail COO, Measurement and Analytics, Footprint Expansion, along with other business management type positions.
  • Execute - As the owner of full Physical Retail P&L, you will be responsible for balancing short term objectives with long term vision and maximizing the omnichannel interplay between store and other channels.  You will drive daily execution and operations and work closely with multiple teams (operations, merchandising, marketing, real estate, creative, brand etc) to achieve measurable change and return on investment. 

What You’ll Need

  • 15+ years of general management experience and at least 5 years operating in a physical retail capacity; luxury brand experience highly preferred
  • Track record of leading and transforming sizable, high performing teams 
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. Inspire, motivate teams to bring future state vision to life
  • History of showcasing disruptive market innovation in a customer focused organization
  • Experience communicating, collaborating and delivering business results with C-Suite
  • Held positions of increasing responsibility, complexity and accountability with results impacting bottom line
  • Background in data driven decision making, coupled with having an appreciation for design and consumer experience
  • Strong business management skills; demonstrated ability to drive strategy and results across multiple teams and stakeholders
