CastleGate Fulfilment aims to become a leading global Digital Freight Forwarder, offering access to turnkey, frictionless, self-service and competitive freight services, enabling cost-efficient perfect orders at scale for Wayfair suppliers and other customers, focusing on ocean.

We are looking for a dynamic colleague that has the experience of navigating internal audits, regulatory, insurance & claims landscape to join our team.

This position ensures a standardized rigor on internal audits for CGF-related activities. This in turn safeguards good repute with customs and border agencies as well as customers and shareholders who expect that the company acts responsibly. This person is responsible for maintaining relations with Insurance companies/ocean liners/dray providers/any relevant third-party vendors relating to cargo claims and recovery.

High Level Responsibilities Include:

Global Internal Audits & Compliance 

  • Defining the audit program with consultants/service providers
  • Overseeing outsourced compliance program with service providers to always remain compliant
  • Responsible for maintaining cadence and assigning audit cycles to auditors
  • Ensure that the organization is complying with relevant laws and statutes
  • Identifying shortfalls or gaps in processes
  • Evaluate internal control and make recommendations on how to improve
  • Following-up the action plans that resulted from the audit with the auditees
  • Proposing recommendations to auditees to correct inefficiencies or to improve efficiency
  • Communicate the findings and recommendations

Claims Adjuster & Insurance

  • Handle cargo claims and General Average situations - manage & administer all claims filed globally.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, such as claimants (customer, recovery agents, Lawyer, Under writer) third party claims administrators etc
  • Having a customer centric approach by keeping in mind the legal requirements to ensure the responsible party closes the claim within legal ambit
  • Safeguard rights of recovery and drive recovery actions
  • Provide technical expertise and advice related to incidents, claims matter and loss prevention initiatives.
  • Able to attend and resolve queries of various stakeholder’s independently
  • Manage relationships with Insurance companies for the insurance product & claims
  • Create relevant insurance products for Wayfair suppliers/customers

 

Qualifications

  • 5 years of working experience within Shipping, Logistics, Marine surveyor, or insurance Industry experience in handling internal audits and compliance program preferred
  • The knowledge of global maritime laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, insurance preferred
  • Analytical thinking
  • Business oriented (ability to understand the audit/claims context)
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills
  • Relationship management, Teamwork and cooperation
  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s including MBA or other additional certifications preferred
  • Comfort with multi-tasking
  • Flexible with working in an ambiguous environment
  • Take ownership of the job assigned
  • Eye for details
