About the Job

Our ambition is to build the world’s largest online specialty retailers with our Specialty Retail Brands - AllModern, Birch Lane, Joss & Main. The market opportunity is large ($60B TAM) and we are well on our way. We are looking for an Associate Director of Content  to help us drive the next phase of growth for one of our brands. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with a track record of building winning content in the home space. Our Specialty Retail Brands operate like venture-backed start-ups within Wayfair’s already entrepreneurial culture. To be successful in this role, you must get energy from operating amidst ambiguity, setting a vision while also rolling up your sleeves, and, being a fierce advocate and brand steward with senior leadership, cross-functional peers, and the core team.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee editorial calendar strategy, including development and execution of concepts across marketing channels and on-site
  • Drive brand direction forward and serve as the bridge between merchant and creative teams, ensuring key brand and product stories come to life
  • Drive content and product merchandising for our print catalog
  • Drive revenue generating storytelling through a robust digital experience platform
  • Manage homepage content execution and performance
  • Ensure successful execution of personalized promotions and content program
  • Oversee internal brand imagery production and forecasting, producing assets for omni-channel efforts
  • Partner with Marketing to drive omni-channel campaigns and secure channel buy-in
  • Stay abreast of market and competitor trends and tactics (including messaging, calendars, assortment approach, etc.).
  • Collaborate productively with key leaders (GMs, CMOs) and cross functional partners (Creative, Marketing, PR, Image Production and Category Management) to drive action and realize goals
  • Manage a team of 3-4 associates

 

What You’ll Need

  • 10+ years of experience, including at least 5 in a content, editorial, or digital/e-commerce team
  • Background in editorial content generation in a data/performance-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated results on self-initiated vision/strategy, from opportunity identification to stakeholder alignment to delivered impact
  • Ability to inspire an internal team through challenges and uncertainty and instill confidence with external partners
  • Experience communicating, collaborating and delivering business results with senior leaders across a wide variety of disciplines
  • Held positions of commensurate scope, responsibility, complexity and accountability
  • Entrepreneurial-minded leader, who has been successful operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Experience in catalogs specifically are a plus
