The Global Trade Strategy & Operations team is at the heart of Wayfair’s global supply chain. We ensure our products reach our millions of customers around the world in an efficient, compliant and cost-effective manner. The Customs Infrastructure & Processes team works with our cross-functional partners to stand up and scale global customs platforms to be used by our trade stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • You’ll lead a team responsible for standing up and scaling various global customs platforms. Examples include our automated classification platform, free-trade agreement programs, and various cost-minimization programs. 
  • You’ll build a comprehensive roadmap across the dimensions of efficient operations, cost-reduction, and compliance, and work with our subject matter experts, BI team and dedicated tech team to execute on that roadmap.
  • You’ll work with a dotted-line BI team to provide analytical expertise and Business Intelligence on customs data to internal stakeholders.
  • You’ll coach and mentor other Wayfairians, both on your team and elsewhere in the org, on various customs topics.
  • You’ll work with subject matter experts to devise and implement cost-saving strategies, including leveraging free-trade agreements, supply chain enhancements, and classification determinations.

What You'll Need

  • 5-10 years’ industry experience, including 5+ managing a team and 5 years’ experience project managing customs processes.
  • Expertise in US customs, including a CCS or LCB designation or equivalent experience. Expertise in Canada and European customs is an asset.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, data-centric tech environment. Experience with SQL or Google Big Query is an asset.
  • You have the ability to think both strategically and operationally; you’re willing to think creatively about customs, while also ensuring compliance.
  • MBA preferred.
