Wayfair believes everyone deserves a home they love, and that furnishing your home should be a source of fun, not anxiety. Our Finance Technology team plays a crucial role in making this vision a reality for millions of people around the world. Partnering with Product, Engineering, Experience Design, Analytics and business leaders across Wayfair, our Third Party Systems team ensures that we’re 1) adopting existing technology that solves important customer problems in elegant, scalable, measurable ways, 2) effectively integrating those tools into existing systems, and 3) managing incremental improvements and configurations.

We’re looking for a Head of Finance Systems who not only enjoys creating a bold vision, but also executing on their ideas through fruition on a global scale. You will define and execute the third party tool strategy and roadmap for our Finance Technology team, integrating and configuring existing technology to institute fast and reliable solutions to enable risk management and deliver lightning fast insights to the business.

We’re entrepreneurial, value oriented decision makers who drive the development of the world-class software products that power Wayfair’s transformation of retail for home. We create the internal Finance enterprise experiences that enable Wayfair to scalably manage multi-billion dollar revenue streams and consistently launch new businesses to support our rapid growth. Our work requires us to move fast and collaborate with some of the best engineers, creatives, data scientists, operators, and analysts to discover, build, and scale world-class software products. The Finance Technology team underpins Wayfair's Global Finance organization by automating key Finance Operations and Accounting functions, and scalably processing terabytes of Finance data into rapid insights for brand GMs, marketing leaders, and heads of operations organizations to make key growth decisions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own multiple third party systems across the Global Finance domain.
  • Develop the vision and roadmaps for all third party Finance technology tools based on your understanding of technology trends, business needs, and user insights.
  • Manage overall execution and performance of third party product initiatives. Lead and collaborate with business, product, engineering, and analytics teams to plan and execute.
  • Deeply understand the technology used in your products, the strong and weak points, and become an expert at what is available. Map out the supported workflows and identify opportunities to simplify and centralize similar use cases across teams.
  • Identify, refine, and meticulously monitor your KPIs to understand the health of your product portfolio and opportunities for improvement.
  • When opportunities for improvement arise, work directly with Product, Engineering, and Business partners to identify and prioritize potential solutions. Innovate and incubate new ideas to improve how we use these existing tools, with a focus on improving data reliability, instituting best practices, and building seamless end-to-end user flows. When needed, compare and contrast homegrown solutions against third party options to optimize speed-to-value.
  • Monitor industry trends and lead market research to stay on-top of emerging technologies that might add value to our Finance Technology ecosystem.
  • Champion a strong team dynamic, engaging partner teams proactively and collaboratively to co-develop roadmaps across teams.
  • Market and communicate your product optimizations and use cases internally to Finance to ensure all available users know about your product and how they can value from it.
  • Test, learn, and fail fast. Rapidly iterate, gather the needed data, interpret it, and then take action to course correct.

What You’ll Need:

  • 8+ years experience in a data-driven and stakeholder-facing role.
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience turning data into actionable insights.
  • Strong sense of logic, critical thinking, and creativity when approaching process and governance.
  • Experience with large scale financial transformations preferred. Knowledge of Oracle, SAP, enterprise AR/APsystems, etc.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple stakeholder groups, communicating with diverse audiences, and balancing/negotiating priorities.
  • Experience building, managing, and leading a team.
