Who We Are 

Our ambition is to build the world’s largest online specialty retailers with our Specialty Retail  Brands - Joss & Main, AllModern, & Birch Lane.  The market opportunity is large ($60B TAM) and we are well on our way.  We are looking for a Head of Frequency on Joss & Main to help us drive the assortment vision and strategy for the Frequency vertical (lighting, textiles, decor, & tabletop) which is critical to scaling the Joss & Main business.  The ideal candidate is a proven leader with a track record of building winning teams and assortments in an omni-channel retail space. Our Specialty Retail Brands operate  like venture-backed start-ups within Wayfair’s already entrepreneurial culture. To be successful in this role, you must get energy from operating amidst ambiguity, setting a vision while also rolling up your sleeves, and, being a fierce advocate and brand steward with senior leadership,  cross-functional peers, and the core team. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead full end-to-end strategy and execution for a large portfolio of categories 
  • Own your category’s financial results, ensuring top and bottom-line growth
  • Drive product assortment decisions, leveraging market trends, historical data trends and

other inputs to identify assortment gaps and churn underperforming products

  • Grow and expand supplier partnerships to ensure financial success of your categories ● Execute on new areas of growth, including line extensions and category expansion
  • Influence cross-functional teams to deploy tactics to drive growth in your categories, including site merchandising, marketing, and pricing & profitability
  • Oversee a team of 6+ frequency merchants, with 2-3 direct reports

What You’ll Need: 

  • 8+ years of experience, including at least 5 in a merchandising role in home and/or  fashion 
  • Strong background in data driven decision making, coupled with having an appreciation  for design, brand and consumer experience 
  • Demonstrated results on self-initiated vision/strategy, from opportunity identification to  stakeholder alignment to delivered impact 
  • Ability to inspire an internal team through challenges and uncertainty and instill  confidence with external partners (suppliers) 
  • Experience communicating, collaborating and delivering business results with senior  leaders across a wide variety of disciplines 
  • Held positions of commensurate scope, responsibility, complexity and accountability  ● Entrepreneurial-minded leader, who has been successful operating in a dynamic, fast paced, ambiguous environment
