Wayfair is looking for a Senior Product Leader to extend our industry-leading ad tech platform that serves as a key growth engine for global customer acquisition and retention, driving billions in annual revenue.

You will partner with Wayfair’s global marketing team to drive product strategy and execution across a diverse array of channels, including paid/organic search and social, programmatic display, online/linear video, and direct mail. The Growth and Ad Platforms team also designs and builds supporting products such as bidding, audience management, product data feeds, and partner data exchange.

The Head of Product will serve as a key internal expert on ad and marketing technology, bringing deep prior experience from the brand, publisher, agency, and/or technology community. Wayfair has major relationships with Google, Facebook, and other adtech players, and this position will be involved in both day-to-day and strategic oversight of these partnerships.

Leading a growing team of 10+ product managers, you will own the overarching vision, driving product prioritization, requirement creation, and execution of product development with data science and engineering teams. The leader is also a highly visible evangelist and influencer for marketing technology, with audiences from the C-suite on down.

A successful candidate also should be a product athlete, with good product sense, execution using Agile processes, and outcome-driven product management. You also need sufficient fluency in underlying technologies and data to credibly engage engineers, other product managers, and data scientists in conversations around feasibility, architecture, and delivery.

This position can be based in Boston, Austin, or Toronto with periodic on-site presence in Boston.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior leaders to define and align business and product vision and strategy for recommendations and personalization at Wayfair
  • Develop and maintain a product platform roadmap and regularly update to key partners and stakeholders
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a growing team of 10+ product managers (across all levels of seniority) and partner with engineering, analytics, and data science leadership to continually evolve their organizations for growth
  • Lead cross-functional teams in planning, prioritization, and product delivery including data science, engineering, merchandising, storefront experience, marketing, pricing and profitability, and category management
  • Counsel leaders in business, operations and other departments on strategy, optimization, process definition, and execution
  • Define and measure business impact, and monitor performance of initiatives and communicate performance metrics to key stakeholders
  • Leverage data to understand risks, impacts, scope and priorities of our business objectives, and enable the team to drive results.
  • Work with leadership to improve product craft and processes throughout the extended Marketing Technology team.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ product management experience, with preference for candidates with a mix of start-up and large-company experience (and/or candidates who have started new products/initiatives within large companies).
  • 5+ years’ experience in ad and marketing technology in a brand, e-commerce, agency/consultancy, and/or technology company.
  • 10+ years’ experience successfully leading and growing teams that are highly effective both in terms of impact and team culture.
  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience with hypothesis-driven problem solving and turning data into actionable insights.
  • Deep understanding of business strategy and metrics.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels, with ability to explain and sell technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Sufficient technical literacy to both understand the underpinnings of products to make key decisions, select partners, and effectively communicate with engineers and data scientists.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership experience.
  • Builder mentality and product sense: you think in terms of customer problems and technology solutions. Demonstrated success in creating business-focused products and breaking with the past, not just maintaining the work of others. Ability to quickly figure out what you don’t already know.
  • Positive, people-oriented, and energetic attitude.
