Position Summary

Wayfair’s Global Process & Productivity team is looking for a passionate and experienced Industrial Engineer to join their fast-growing team. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to immediately impact the success of high-visibility initiatives to sustain Wayfair’s rapid growth.

Working closely with both the broader IE team and the various Warehouse Operations groups, the  primary role will be to support the network in the workforce management process, identify and implement “Best Practices” and “Best Methods”, support tracking of key performance indicators & initiate process improvements throughout the operation. Industrial/ Manufacturing/  Systems Engineering, Labor Management System (LMS), and Continuous Improvement experience required. Warehouse/supply chain, data acquisition & visualization, statistical analysis experience preferred.  

 

What You’ll Do

  • Generates and assesses metrics for dissemination of trends that affect service quality and customer reviews through the use of statistics and quality engineering tools
  • Support operations & business partners with Labor, Capacity, and Constraints Mitigation Planning.
  • Identify Continuous Improvement opportunities both within the local site & broader network.
  • Manage projects related to LMS, WMS, and Process Improvement. Work with multifunctional teams to drive projects to completion.
  • Work with operational partners to help with the site and flow optimization 
  • Perform ROI Analysis for various supply chain solutions including hardware, software, & supporting technology
  • Practices safe work procedures, and follows all safety rules at all times
  • Travel required – 20%

 

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience or technical background of Labor and Warehouse Management Systems.
  • 4+ years of experience working  in distribution or manufacturing fields. 
  • Proficient with data acquisition & visualization techniques, such as SQL/GBQ, Data Studios Coding, G-Suite or other relational database query languages
  • Space planning and layout design proficiency (AutoCad).
  • Detail oriented, with strong analytical and organizational skills, who is also highly results oriented and proactive
  • Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication skills. Effective at communicating with business partners and senior management both local and remote
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Ability to discuss and show Return on Investment and Operational audits.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification is a plus
