As a data analyst in a data science organization, you will uncover and understand insights hidden in our vast repository of raw data in Google BigQuery to provide tactical and strategic guidance. You will build innovative reporting and monitoring solutions for model performance and business KPIs which will inform the decision making on continuous model development with the Data Science team. You will build easy to use tools or applications like Google App Script, Jupyter notebook or web application that connects the model output to real business needs.

What You'll Do

  • Become an integral part of  our Data Science workstreams, acting t as the subject matter expert for data and analytics in your respective domain
  • Explore, prototype, test and automate data pipelines and provide insights into model performance and business KPI impact 
  • Deliver presentations to business stakeholders that tell cohesive stories using data and on point visualizations to support data supported decision making and ultimately enhance the experience of our customers and our suppliers
  • Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Engineers and business stakeholders, contributing to the cross-functional partnership, strategy and roadmap.
  • Contribute to and influence the team vision, strategy and OKRs
  • Lead by example, helping other team members learn and improve, to level up the team's technical capabilities and business awareness.
  • Communicate and collaborate across the wider organization, influencing decisions  without direct authority with inclusive, adaptable and persuasive communication 

What You'll Need 

  • 6+ years of experience as a data analyst/data engineer with academic background in a technical/quantitative field (e.g. mathematics, economics, computer science, analytics,  engineering, physics, neuroscience, operations research etc.) 
  • Industry experience especially in NLP or Operations would be a nice to have
  • Strong communication skills, ability to synthesize conclusions for non-experts and desire to influence business direction
  • Strong quantitative skills, knowledge and experience with various analytical methods including statistics and experimentation. 

Strong command of SQL queries,  experience with programming using Python, big data frameworks and cloud-based analytics tools (BigQuery, Redshift, Airflow etc)

About the team:

Wayfair’s DS Analytics team collaborates closely with 3 expansive Data Science workstreams that are working to transform the way we do business in fraud detection, supply chain operations, and natural language processing (NLP).
