We are looking for an experienced data product manager to lead one of our data platform workstreams. We are in the early days of capturing a multi-billion dollar opportunity and you will be joining us in the foundational stages of our journey. You have a unique chance to build up a platform from scratch and to impact thousands of suppliers, and in turn, millions of customers.

Wayfair is the leading online retailer for furniture & decor and we rely on our suppliers to deliver on our core business proposition: delivering great products to our customers quickly and reliably. Our supplier-facing ecosystem enables our 17,000+ supplier-partners to deliver on that promise by providing them with all capabilities they need to successfully manage their e-commerce business.

The Supplier Data Engineering team, based in Berlin, is responsible for building our next-generation supplier data platform and services. Our team curates and democratizes data across different domains for analysts and data scientists, and provides the foundational capabilities to access and enrich all types of supplier data. With our data products, we enable supplier-facing teams to provide actionable insights across their entire business, targeted notifications on what to act upon, and relevant recommendations on how to grow with us.

What you‘ll do

  • Shape the product strategy for one of our data engineering workstreams and lead the team through goal setting, discovery, delivery, and adoption of your data products.
  • Partner with many supplier product teams, data analysts, and data scientists to understand their challenges, needs, and end-to-end use cases and involve your engineering peers to define valuable and viable data solutions.
  • Prioritize the work for your team, balancing mission-critical initiatives, tactical stakeholder asks and keeping the lights-on activities.
  • Take full responsibility for the launch strategy of your solutions, drive the adoption of your products and services, and measure their success.
  • Provide transparency to other teams and executives from engineering, product, and business across offices and time zones. Communicate your workstream’s roadmap and decisions.
  • Be a key member of our platform group, work with fellow product and engineering leads, and contribute to the overall success of our teams and our platform.

What you‘ll need

  • 7+ years of experience in product management with a proven track record in delivering solutions for complex problems in multi-stakeholder setups over multiple quarters.
  • A basic technical understanding of modern data architecture and APIs to converse on eye level with technical decision-makers.
  • Capability to collaborate with engineering teams on scoping technical requirements and managing APIs as a product (REST, GraphQL).
  • Capability to collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and ML engineers to provide back-end data for their reporting needs and applications
  • Capability to collaborate with other data engineering teams to build integration partnerships for data exchange and interoperability
  • Ability to create clarity in an ambiguous or complex problem space and to break it down and sequence it into multiple end-to-end use cases using logic and data.
  • Capability to collaborate with the broader organization across multiple time zones and to influence decisions even without direct authority

Nice to have would be experience with:

  • B2B products, SaaS, API development, or data platforms
  • Data-intensive applications based on fast and slow data
  • Basic analytical skills
