Manager (m/f/x), Creative Operations, Europe

The Creative Team Europe at Wayfair is looking for an experienced Creative Operations Manager to join our in-house team of Designers, Producers and more.  

Ideally, you already have experience in managing and developing a team and know how to lead, coach and regularly review direct reports. This role requires you to understand and navigate alongside the different roles, needs and tasks of the creative team, helping to build the best team and facilitate effective collaboration with our stakeholders and partners. You are a strong communicator and can easily build effective relationships with different people to establish a trustful collaboration. 

In this role, you are responsible for managing all workflows and timelines along a 6+ months marketing roadmap. You review and continuously optimize processes to ensure creative operations are set up for success as we are growing and expanding our business. We are looking for someone who pays attention to detail while overseeing multiple projects and deals comfortably with different challenges that come our way day-to-day. Someone who can lead effectively and independently work with a diverse team to drive them to best results. As we strive for creative and operational excellence, we are looking for a strong organizer and people manager with 6+ years of experience in running large and complex digital creative campaigns with proven success in agile environments. 

Besides your organizational skills you bring a strategic mindset that makes you capable to relate your work to the long term business objectives. Wayfair is a data-driven company, hence we expect you to be comfortable in using performance and operational data to inform your planning and your decision-making process, and you would also develop insights on an operational level from your analysis of available project-specific data and KPIs. 

 

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and develop a project manager reporting into you, with bi-annual performance reviews and regular one-on-ones
  • Work with peers in the creative team (design, copy managers) in defining and developing expectations and agenda for the creative team for the next 6+ months
  • Work closely with business partners and stakeholders to ensure goals and expectations for all marketing promotions meet strategic business objectives
  • Onboard, oversee and manage creative freelancers, as required, to ensure a seamless and successful collaboration with the entire team
  • Plan and run our biggest, global omni-channel campaigns for Europe in close collaboration with our teams in North America
  • Establish and continuously strive to optimize the creative operational workflows
  • Challenge input briefs, identify gaps or inconsistencies in order to facilitate an efficient creative kick off and execution towards clearly defined objectives
  • Oversee the overall promotion & communications calendar to forecast and solve for the capacity requirements along project milestones 
  • Plan, organize and oversee the creative work in Sprints, applying agile SCRUM methodologies and being comfortable in using common tools to organise the work
  • Know about the key operational metrics and analyse them to determine project success and gain insights for gaining further efficiencies in creative operations. 
  • Keep track of and facilitate cost and invoice management

 

What You'll Need

  • Experience managing and developing direct reports
  • Use good judgment and succinct communication to be effective in driving results within a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Proactivity and a positive, people-oriented, energetic attitude
  • Critical thinking and an analytical approach to solve problems
  • 6+ years of experience in similar position and scope in e-commerce or an agency
  • Understanding of a multi-disciplined creative process and the different disciplines involved
  • Ability to take ownership of set objectives, to unpack and simplify complex problems and put them into a concise action plan to solution
  • Exceptional project management capabilities, comfortably in using common project management tools like Jira and utilising agile methodologies
  • Strength in prioritizing effectively and making informed decisions quickly, in order to manage multiple projects, with high adaptability to change if necessary
  • Experience in short and long-term resource planning 
  • Excellent skills in adapting communication style to depending on the stakeholder, situation and objective, with the ability to negotiate successfully when faced with competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. English is a must, German is a plus.
  • Comfort to work efficiently and effectively 
  • Experience and comfort in using data as part of the decision making process and result evaluation
