Wayfair offers Europe’s largest online selection of home furnishings, décor, home improvement and many more. Getting thousands of orders every day to their new owners is at the heart of what we do. To achieve this, our core EU Operations teams require accurate and trustworthy forecasts to drive short term capacity planning, and longer term strategic decisions.

We are looking for a Lead Analyst to operate and support the transformation of the EU Operational Forecasting and Planning processes, acting as a true business partner to operations teams including warehouse, logistics, supplier and customer service centers. Candidates should combine an inquisitive mind with very strong technical and analytical skills, in addition to being interested in building cross-functional processes. This role will best suit those with strong analytical skills, and intellectual curiosity to drive impactful change in a business through planning and forecasting tools and outputs.

What you will do

  • Own and manage the recurring forecast process to support capacity planning across EU Operations, including warehousing, logistics and shared services. This includes operating our data science model and post processing automation, managing situational inputs from current business context, and delivering results to our stakeholders
  • Utilise your very strong problem solving skills against our vast data sets using tools such as SQL, Python or Data Studio, for example in root cause analyses of actuals vs. forecast deviations
  • Act as our main point of contact for forecast users in other functions. You’ll continually push for adoption of forecast outputs in the business, while managing a pipeline of forecast enhancements to better serve the business beyond current capabilities
  • Work as a thought partner alongside our Data Science and tech teams to drive continual improvement of  the baseline forecast models
  • Lead and mentor junior colleagues, while yourself growing professionally under the leadership of experienced colleagues and within Wayfair’s structured career development program

What you will need

  • You're looking to make measurable business impact
  • You have a passion to lead projects
  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience. People management experience is preferred, but not required
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and an affinity for working with large data sets
  • Superior SQL and Excel/GSheets skills are required, along with experience in Python or a similar programming language
  • Strong communication skills, and experience building successful cross-functional partnerships
  • Preferable, not essential: experience with forecasting and planning
