Manager - EU/UK Trade Compliance

Global Trade Compliance within the International Supply Chain (ISC) is looking for a talented customs & trade compliance professional to support our rapidly growing and evolving business in Europe and the UK. In this role, you will drive Global Trade Compliance’s EU trade strategy and process including and cross-functional auditing and monitoring initiatives in compliance with international customs regulations and import/export laws.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and execute EU/UK Customs & Trade Compliance strategy and vision for Wayfair’s Supply Chain
  • Think innovatively and drive scalable business solutions and processes to ensure compliance with EU and UK import/export regulations
  • Partner with logistics inbound operations,transportation, carrier procurement, finance, legal, customs brokers, and a variety of other internal and external stakeholders to support trade compliance between the UK and EU
  • Seek and implement tech solutions needed to enable automation of EU/UK trade compliance activities such as: HS classification, import licensing requirements, valuation, etc.
  • Help construct strategies for duty saving opportunities (i.e bonded warehouse, VAT deferment, etc.)
  • Oversee local broker partner relationships and drive a consistent set of metrics and KPIs
  • Manage ad-hoc compliance reviews, internal self-assessments and broker QBRs
  • Drive the tactical execution of trade compliance audits
  • Assist in defining the scope of new audits and exception management processes for the EU and UK.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of current trade compliance challenges and trends

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor degree (preferably in Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, Operations or Business Administration)
  • 5+ years of Trade Compliance experience
  • Advanced level of understanding of customs and trade regulations & processes
  • Experience leading and managing projects
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Able to identify patterns, trends and gaps
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Able to work well independently and as a team member
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and G-Suite applications
  • Experience using SQL , GBQ or other database management systems preferred
