The Global Sales Planning and Operations Strategy team is seeking a leader to support our field compensation program. Our team is accountable for strategic, data-informed, competitive compensation strategies and programs to drive desired agent behavior and outcomes. This individual will play a critical role in designing, implementing, monitoring and maintaining programs that drive our sales team performance and experience. The manager will work closely with the rest of the Planning team to perform analysis on whether our compensation plans are meeting our broader objectives.  The expectation for this role is that you will be a thought partner for our sales leadership and talent teams, identifying how we should continue to optimize our compensation to drive desired results.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Agent Analysis and Compensation Lead, you’ll own the full compensation roadmap for our organization, be our subject-matter expert on external trends and compensation benchmarking and work hand in hand with sales leadership to align our compensation strategy with the broader sales strategy:

  • Partner with and influence stakeholders across the sales organization to drive and evolve compensation strategy to ensure it meets our financial, operational and behavioral objectives
  • As our business grows and evolves, continually refine and communicate compensation strategy and philosophy and enhance data-collection, analytics, and decision-making. This includes rolling out additional compensation plans for 10+ teams over the next few years with a focus on creating a process that is easy to manage while also meeting unique needs of each team
  • Monitor metrics to understand ongoing performance of our plans, specifically are we seeing any shifts in profitability or behaviors that we want to drive
  • Proactively identify opportunities for better design, increased efficiency, and improved structures using internal and external data
  • Research, gather, and analyze external data to determine appropriate salary levels for jobs and positions across our team and recommend incentive plans that drive desired behaviors
  • Understand regulatory implications for our teams and ensue our compensation plans are in compliance with state and local requirements
  • Communicate with the field on a regular basis, through regular meetings, management of the compensation mailbox and participation in round tables for feedback.
  • Make sound, data-driven, and scalable compensation recommendations in a highly matrixed organization 

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in an analytical discipline such as: Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Business or Finance
  • 4+ years of work experience in an analytical role, preferably in technology, consulting, or finance 
  • 1+ years of experience in the compensation space would be a plus 
  • Crisp, clear, tailored communication and an affinity for socializing complexity with ease to a variety of audiences
  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills and technical abilities along with problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, ability to handle and read data, ability to extract insights and trends to provide recommendations/ drive actionable solutions
  • Experience in filtering and updating complex technical knowledge for use in problem resolution
  • Experience with database queries / SQL / Google Big Query / Looker is a plus (not required)
  • Track record of driving tangible results across teams in a fast paced / ambiguous environment

  • Entrepreneurial spirit or prior experience in a high performance, fast-paced industry
