Manager, Sales Strategy and Operations 

The Sales Strategy and Operations team is looking for a manager who will drive the discovery, build out, growth and profitability of a new design sales team at Wayfair. This is an opportunity to work on a blank slate/white canvas part of the business, wear multiple hats as we grow and write the playbook. You will be in a highly visible, cross functional and impact heavy role with P&L responsibility. What You’ll Do

  • Launch and grow a new business at Wayfair: Build a design sales (and later renovation sales) business for our consumer facing business, own a P&L. You will wear multiple hats and collaborate with teammates who will challenge you and help you grow. 

  • Test and learn: Partner with frontline managers and cross-functional stakeholders to design incentives and programs for sales teams, set KPIs, deep dive on data insights and create and march against execution plans.

  • Build strong relationships with the frontline teams: Partner with our frontline managers and design sales consultants to build and deliver an awesome design experience.

  • Partner cross-functionally: Join forces with category management, merchandising, marketing, data science, engineering, product management to execute on strategic priorities.

What You’ll Need

  • 5+ years of work experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required - quantitative major, a plus 

  • Track record of driving tangible results across teams in a fast paced/ambiguous environment

  • Ability to build trust and influence with senior executives, sales agents and cross functional partners 

  • Crisp, clear, tailored communication and an affinity for socializing complexity with ease to a variety of audiences

  • Fluency in Excel/analyses and ability to quickly draw insights with data is required.

  • Experience with database queries/SQL/Google Big Query/Looker, a plus

  • A tenacious, entrepreneurial and ownership mindset 

  • A strong desire to see the team around you thrive

  • A ‘get stuff done’ mentality with a highly collaborative attitude

  • An insatiable appetite to understand “why” something is the way it is (customer needs, backend data infrastructure, data science models, test results, etc.)
