Role Description 

Do you enjoy strategic problem-solving and envisioning new best-in-class customer experiences?

We are looking for an analytical and innovative colleague to head our Push Notifications channel, and manage our highly-valuable portfolio of Marketing Emails triggered by customer actions (e.g., reminders of items left in their cart). We send millions of such Emails and Push Notifications every day to our customers in Europe and these channels drive double-digit millions in annual revenue. 

Sending the right message to the right customer at the right time is critical to a great customer experience and fostering loyalty.  We ensure this by granularly segmenting our customer base, envisioning the customer experience, and personalizing everything. We also strategically test and improve our offering, leveraging our state-of-the-art proprietary platform. 

You will directly manage and guide a team of 1-2 to achieve these goals. You will also own our omni-channel (email x push) notifications strategy and so partner closely with our in-house Data Scientists and  Product Managers from our Mar Tech teams to shape the tools that enable best-in-class customer journeys. Finally, you and your team will collaborate with our Creative and Promotions teams to execute high-impact campaigns on a day-to-day basis.

Our Berlin-based team owns and operates a full suite of marketing channels in Europe including Email, Push Notifications, TV, Facebook, Instagram, Google  and more.  

What you will do 

  • Fully own the Push Notifications channel for Europe end-to-end: strategy, team management, test & learn roadmap, channel performance monitoring and reporting
  • Manage our portfolio of highly-valuable Marketing Emails triggered by customer actions and omni-channel (Email x Push) notifications strategy in Europe.
  • Manage and guide a team of 1-2 in analyzing customer data, testing new and innovative concepts, analyzing campaigns, and understanding key performance drivers .
  • Partner closely with our global Data Science and platform Product Managers on development of our global machine-learning models for email & push send strategies
  • Collaborate with our Creative and Promotions colleagues to enhance customer experience with these channels (as evidenced via engagement, conversion and retention) 
  • Thought-partner with our product leads for Notifications Platform and App Product, and leads for these channels in the US to prioritize platform features that enhance our customer experience and the journey from acquisition to retention & repeat purchases. 

What you will need

  • Bachelor degree in a quantitative field of study: math, sciences, economics, or business
  • At least 3 years of full-time experience , including 3-6 months of direct team management
  • Track record of charting the course / owning and driving to solutions to complex problems, including proven structured strategy development / problem-solving skills
  • Strong ownership instinct and ability to pivot when confronted with unexpected obstacles. 
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills - answer-first, specific and decision-oriented.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel  and intermediate proficiency with SQL 
  • Languages: English 
  • Advantageous, but not mandatory: experience in e-commerce or management consulting; working knowledge of business statistics; knowledge of German language.
