Communications Manager 

The Operations Services team is looking for a proven leader to drive communications and project management within our organization. We are looking for an energetic, collaborative minded leader, with an entrepreneurial spirit and a background in communication and project management. This is a highly visible and exciting role for the company and one that will offer the right candidate an opportunity to have a big impact on our teams and drive key cross-functional projects.

Who we are

The Operations Services team’s goal is to create value both internally and externally through the establishment of lasting partnerships, clear processes, and tech solutions which will enable us to drive more efficient and cost effective order processing and supply chain systems. We resolve  process and system issues in the Wayfair ecosystem before they impact our fulfillment centers, suppliers, customer service agents, on-the-ground supply chain teams, and ultimately our customers. The Communications Manager focuses on crafting clear communication to our teams about important topics and project manages complex cross-functional initiatives with significant business value. 


What You'll Do

  • Own content coordination and development for bi-monthly All Hands meetings with our organization and monthly email updates to stakeholders
  • Project manage complex cross-functional initiatives
  • Create onboarding and training materials that all teams can leverage and ensure new hires have the right equipment
  • Regularly create updates for and report out on team capacity/overtime utilization, headcount forecasting, and hiring progress
  • Develop streamlined reporting and updates on business process outsourcing
  • Work with team leads to prepare and coordinate performance management activities
  • Develop ideas and lead team communication on best utilization of professional development opportunities including structure learning time/content and lunch and learn topics
  • Help develop and coordinate action plans based on employee feedback to create a best in class work environment

Who we are looking for

Success in this role requires excellent written and verbal communication and project management experience including the ability to work cross-functionally to lead follow through to completion. You will need a combination of strategic and analytical thinking, an interest in innovating to solve business problems creatively, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to hit the ground running. This person would be a self-starter with an ownership and results oriented mindset. A successful candidate would be adaptable, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be comfortable with ambiguity.

  • BA required and experience in one of the following fields: communications, project management, operations management. Experience with online retail, tech companies, or supply chain is a plus.
  • A successful communication leader and project manager who has demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and key messaging to a broad audience.
  • Strong analytical experience and comfortable operating with data sets to identify trends and actionable takeaways.

Detailed oriented with a strong client or customer management experience skill set.
Strong proficiency with MS Office and Google docs/sheets/slides.
