Merchandising Technology is responsible for the technology products that get Wayfair’s massive catalog of SKUs eCommerce ready, including assortment planning, imagery and 3D/AR content creation, and storage/delivery of media assets. Our systems, which leverage several bespoke data science capabilities, are core to Wayfair’s business model and drive significant impact for the company. Product Analytics enables Merchandising Technology to build a rich data asset and make data-driven decisions across the product lifecycle.

As a Product Analytics Manager, your goal is to find insights that shape product direction and unlock business value. Your team complements Product & Engineering teams with analytic depth & rigor to shape our data asset for downstream analytics; conduct advanced analyses that measure impact; and build dashboards which expose data to our end users. This is an ideal opportunity for a strong analyst who is excited to sit at the intersection of advanced analytics and product strategy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Identify the core questions analytics can help answer for a product domain in the medium term, serving as an effective partner to Product, Engineering, and Data Science
  • Conduct advanced analyses of product and user behavior that measure impact of feature releases and identify high impact opportunity areas, leveraging experimentation and statistical simulation where warranted
  • Communicate key insights and recommendations to cross-functional partners
  • Establish key metrics to measure product performance and build dashboards to track them over time
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the product & data architecture to better support the analytics agenda, effectively partnering with Platform and Data Engineering teams to drive change
  • Create an environment that supports growth and celebrates differences

What You'll Need:

  • 4+ years of post bachelor’s work experience in a quantitative field
  • Fluency in SQL and structured computer programming language(s) like Python or R. Experience with Google Big Query is a plus.
  • Familiarity with visualization tools, such as Google Data Studio, Looker, or similar
  • Strong analytical acumen; experience scoping and executing analyses which leverage advanced statistical methods
  • Strong business acumen; demonstrated success leveraging it to develop a clear, robust roadmap and influencing senior stakeholders with data
  • Bachelors and Masters in quantitative discipline preferred; comparable experience considered in lieu of this
