Overview

Homebase is Wayfair’s Design System, which is used to build all of our Customer-, Employee-, and Supplier-facing experiences across web and native applications. It allows us to quickly and efficiently deliver a cohesive user experience, freeing up product, engineering, and design bandwidth to tackle the big problems that really matter. We enable Wayfair teams to ship better products faster!

The Homebase team is comprised of four squads: Library, Enablement, App, and Accessibility. These squads collaborate closely to ensure our design system is the most efficient and effective way to build products at Wayfair. There are currently open roles for the following squads:

  • The Library squad, who empower Wayfair's teams to quickly ship high quality and cohesive end user experiences through foundational guidelines, flexible components, and community support.

  • The Homebase Enablement squad, who own all Homebase documentation, tooling, and community engagement programs.

  • The App squad, who is responsible for the maintenance and evolution of our design system across iOS and Android platforms, supporting various ecom and tooling applications.

Role & Responsibilities

The Homebase Product Designer/Lead will be responsible for shaping the tools and standards Wayfair uses to build the next iteration of great experiences for our customers, suppliers, and employees alike. Using your knowledge of product design, systems thinking, and web/app best practices, you’ll help us create a consistent and predictable look and feel for all of our products and documentation, while setting a high bar for quality with respect to both usability and accessibility.
