Wayfair is looking for an experienced Product Leader to own the vision, strategy and implementation of Wayfair’s global payments platform and experiences across all of our retail brands (Wayfair, Perigold, AllModern, Joss & Main, Birch Lane) and geographies (currently US, UK, Canada and Germany, growing to 15+ over the next few years) across all channels. 

In 2021 Wayfair processed over $14 billion in net revenue which at our $800+ billion (and growing) total addressable market means we are just getting started.

 

The Payments team’s mission is to provide a world-class global payments platform and offer our omnichannel customers and suppliers/service providers a delightful payment experience while managing the risk and total cost of payment. 

 

The senior role is reports to the head of Wayfair’s Payments and Fraud organization within Wayfair tech and works with a cross-functional team of product management, design, analytics and engineering focusing on expanding the platform with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and profitability, with real-time impact on the entire business. This leader will inherit an existing team of product managers and  influence and collaborate closely with various stakeholders in Commercial, Finance and Tech organizations.  Successful candidates will be highly entrepreneurial, collaborative, analytical, creative, and inspirational problem-solvers and have a wealth of relevant experience in the Payments and Fraud/Risk domain.

What You’ll Do

 

What you will do in this role: 

  • Drive Results
      • Build and drive payments and fraud product strategy and reuse across various market and user segments. Stay ahead of rapidly changing payments ecosystem driving alternate payments, open banking, crypto adaption
      • Craft, own, and deliver a world-class payments, risk & fraud platform and experience roadmap that our customers will love, and that will work for the business
      • Focus the broad cross-functional team on outcomes, while you lead the group to move quickly in developing solutions to real customer problems
      • Leverage data to understand risks, impacts, scope and priorities of our business objectives, and enable the team to drive results
      • Lead cross-functional teams in roadmap planning and prioritization 
  • Win Together
      • Build a team of product managers within payments and fraud domain, establishing and fostering a team culture with high accountability, trust, collaboration and empowerment
      • Collaborate effectively with senior partners, stakeholders, and executives to ensure cross-Wayfair alignment and support for the payments platform strategy and vision
      • Partner with Business teams in facilitating executive-level partnerships with third party providers to drive a shared technology roadmap and manage performance to Wayfair standards
      • Build and mature the organization through various cross functions.

    • Wear the Wayfair hat in all decisions you make, for the overall payments & fraud strategy and your teams
    • Balance iteration and leap-frog strategies in striving for a world-class platform
    • Learn and grow as an individual and team leader in similar ways to how you’ll grow our product and platform
    • Contribute meaningfully to the development of product management fundamentals and execution of Product Management at large



What You’ll Need

  • 10+ years’ Product Management experience, with preference for candidates with a track record creating world-class payments platforms and capabilities
  • Deep domain experience and a passion for the strategic, business & operational aspects of payments 
  • Broad network into & reputation among payments peers in leading e-commerce companies, vendors and industry partners
  • Demonstrated ability to build and grow Product teams and cultures that make customers happier in ways that help the business succeed, and cultivate high levels of ownership, trust and morale.
  • Strong analytical skills and track record weaving together a variety of inputs (eg data insights, business strategy, behavioral data, qualitative research, product sense/instincts) into a coherent product vision, which you then convert into results through product discovery and delivery.
  • Proven track record of driving the world class outcomes on key Payments KPIs and customer wins. Intellectual curiosity about what makes customers successful completing Wayfair purchases and suppliers get paid frictionless.
  • Communication skills with demonstrated ability to navigate a complex organization, rally people around an exciting vision, and generate buy-in for ideas and plans.
  • Strong technical background Ability to partner closely with Business, Engineering, Experience Design and Analytics



Nice-to-have

  • Experience on merchant AND PSP side would be advantageous 
  • Good knowledge of software engineering processes and related disciplines
  • Experience in tracking and business intelligence tools is a plus
  • A higher level degree of equivalent experience in a technical discipline
