Project Specialist, 3D QC Operations

About the Company

Are you curious about what the next generation of e-commerce will look like and how billions will shop in the next 5-10 years? Do you want to be a part owner at a revolutionary company, where you'll contribute to complex business cases?

At Wayfair, we are redefining the way our customers can shop for furniture & home goods, using cutting edge technologies. We are looking for self-starters with an entrepreneurial spirit, intellectual curiosity, and passion for driving digital solutions.

About the Department

The 3D Operations team is a rapidly growing team at Wayfair and one of Wayfair's top initiatives. For ecommerce, images sell products, however the traditional method of creating images in a photo studio is time consuming and expensive. Wayfair is partnering with Google, Facebook, and other leaders in the industry to disrupt the imagery space and shift the industry towards the creation of computer-generated 3D product models and rooms that can be combined to create imagery for products at a grand scale for a fraction of the cost.

About the Role

The 3D Operations group is seeking a new Project Specialist to join our 3D QC team at our Boston, MA Headquarters. This new Project Specialist will work cross-functionally with Product Management, Data Science, Analytics, Vendor Management, and 3D Artists to drive image quality projects. At Wayfair, the 3D QC team is responsible for optimizing the digital production line that produces thousands of 3D product images each year by componentizing the pipeline to improve production speed, cost efficiency, and output quality.

What You'll Do

  • Drive key initiatives across several imagery workstreams
  • Create custom analytic reports by analyzing and summarizing information and trends to communicate image quality insights to stakeholders
  • Improve current systems by studying current practices; leveraging data to suggest and design process modifications
  • Serve as a strategic partner for cross-functional groups, keeping a wide variety of stakeholders aligned on achieving a singular set of value-driven outcomes
  • Partner with Product Managers to help design, support, test, and upgrade Wayfair’s proprietary workflow management tools and production ecosystem
  • Monitor process health and performance, identify recurring trends and provide recommendation to develop actionable steps
  • Help build scalable processes to support data collection and pipeline optimization.

What You'll Need

  • 2+ years of experience with enhancing processes, reporting and metrics in Operations, Business Analysis or Strategy
  • Highly analytical, including experience with analyzing and interpreting large data sets directly (high Excel proficiency is a must, experience with SQL required / Google Data Studio preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a highly detail-oriented environment
  • Ability to break down large, complex, ambiguous goals into manageable pieces
  • Ability to tie tactical objectives to broader business goals
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and creating new processes from scratch
  • Previous experience within 3D or Imagery a plus
