Wayfair Berlin is now looking for a  Senior Analyst with strong attention to detail, excellent quantitative skills, and strong business acumen. You will need to have the ability to make decisions based on data and be able to look at  "the bigger picture", as well as having a cross-functional collaborative mindset to work across all teams involved in the process. 

Role description

As Senior Analyst, your role will be to drive the growth of our most important new revenue stream. The Senior Analyst, B2B Promotions Europe will be building Promotional Experiences for our B2B customers, from curations to communications and campaigns and analytical infrastructure.

You will also drive customer lifetime value through engaging promotional content, as well as merchandize the best products from our suppliers at the best prices and presents them to each customer at the best time. You will be responsible for the end-to-end process from running automated supplier auction engines, forecasting promotional performance, working with many high-performing teams.

Your future Team

Our B2B business is an entirely new business in Europe that we are launching this year. B2B Promotions’ aim is to create highly personalized, promotional experiences for B2B customers across multiple segments (e.g., interior designers, contractors) in a fully automated way and to guide suppliers to grow their business with a dedicated promotional offer for B2B customers through our self-service platform. 

We are a fast-growing team of 10 with a fun atmosphere and international spirit (we have members from 4 different continents). Our work is a beautiful mix of analytical, commercial, and creative. We take fast, data-based decisions and continuously improve our approach by leveraging A/B tests, data analytics, and learnings from our counterparts in North America. 

Who YOU are

The right candidate has a passion for diving deep to retrieve/synthesize data into clear insights and actionable recommendations, and be able to translate and present those to our stakeholders. You should feel comfortable working with large datasets and rely on business acumen to form and test hypotheses. You should also have a bias for action and an avid interest in seeing our findings turned into real-life results. Initiative, proactivity, and an agile mindset will be highly appreciated.

What You'll Do

You will own the customer-facing side of B2B promotions. You will be an integral part of building up the B2B business of Wayfair in Europe and responsible for building and growing a truly engaging and professional promotional experience for our business customers. You’ll be taking business decisions from day 1 and take charge of building an important new revenue stream.

  • Create an engaging promotional experience for B2B customers, building on our established tools, processes, and best practices from the B2C business and B2B in North America and collaborate with other teams (e.g., Email Marketing, Brand Experience, Operations) to make things happen
  • Develop a deep understanding of our B2B customer
    • Map out promotional needs of key B2B segments
    • Develop a segment-specific B2B promotional calendar – incl. B2C major shopping holidays (e.g. ‘Black Friday’), but also B2B-specific campaigns (e.g. ‘Back to School’)
    • Over time, nuance brand experiences through testing across channels
  • Drive the creation of B2B customer-specific landing page experiences
    • Ensure the creation of adequate landing pages for everyday promotions (e.g. ‘Our Best Office Desks’) as well as promotional periods (e.g. ‘Black Friday’)
    • Steer and optimize product curation and imagery and copy for these landing pages, a.o. by collaborating with our creative department
    • Guide customers to easily find the best products and best prices on our website via flags, sorting, filters, etc.
  • Build out a B2B newsletter lane, in collaboration with Marketing
    • Provide and manage content for segment-specific newsletters – tailored in terms of concepts, imagery, and tone of voice, leveraging and adapting our content tools
    • Identify testing opportunities for new content delivery mechanisms (e.g. via personalization algorithms)
    • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure our content is aligned with new data science and decision models
  • Provide performance transparency
    • Continuously analyze and summarize results, and implement necessary changes to maximize customer and supplier engagement and conversion
    • Create performance dashboards and align on new business KPIs with cross-functional teams
    • Regularly report out on B2B promotions performance to a large audience of senior and cross-functional stakeholders

What You'll Need

The ideal candidate thrives in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment and takes end-to-end ownership of projects and processes. To be successful, you will need top-notch organizational skills, a naturally curious and analytical mindset, strong technical aptitude, and a good sense for customer behavior in the digital space. 

  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant work experience within consulting, fast-growing tech,  B2B marketing/sales, e-commerce, promotions, sales, and/or product management
  • Ideally Master’s degree and a strong academic record in economics, business, math, statistics, or related field
  • Advanced analytical skills, including technical aptitude (Excel required, SQL, Data Studio, Looker or Tableau, R, etc. a plus) 
  • Business acumen, ideally experience with or curiosity about customer behavior in the B2B space
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging data from multiple sources to solve complex problems and tell a story 
  • Proven ability to ramp up quickly when presented with data science/decision models, actively questioning their impact on KPIs and customers 
  • Business acumen, drive new initiatives and demonstrate the ability to drive multiple parallel threads of work to completion
  • Extremely collaborative mindset and effective in a cross-functional environment
  • Fluent in English with exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication skills
  • Positive, energetic attitude with a can-do mentality
