What You Will Do

As a Senior Analyst in Competitive Intelligence, you will develop in-depth knowledge of the data that fuels our pricing and category management decisions. You will work end-to-end and drive all three pillars of Competitive Intelligence in the EU: Data Acquisition, Matching, and Selection.


Your responsibilities include

  • Collaborating closely with Pricing and Category Management teams. You understand their needs, troubleshoot problems or accurately escalate them.
  • Working closely with the US colleagues to represent EU needs. You prioritize initiatives that drive impact, ideate on solutions, take part in the development of MVPs (minimum viable products) or facilitate the development of full scope projects.
  • Developing deep expertise on Wayfair’s Data Acquisition, Matching, and Selection systems, algorithms and data pipelines. You know how the critical data is collected and how it flows between main tables, develop local solutions and work with the engineering teams to globalize the successful ones.
  • Measuring and communicating progress along KPIs. You develop robust reporting capabilities to measure the impact of pricing on key metrics.
  • Working against specific and well scoped problem statements. You propose solutions and a plan to drive execution.
  • Architecting novel metrics and analyses to shed light on success drivers. You develop analytical techniques that allow for greater understanding of our performance. 

What You'll Need

The ideal candidate should have 3+ years of experience in analytics and/or stakeholder facing roles. Have a growth mindset and be strong both technically and in terms of business acumen.

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree, ideally in a quantitative/analytics field (information systems, computer science, math, economics, statistics, physics, engineering, etc.);
  • 3+ years of work experience in an analytical and/or stakeholder-facing role.
  • Results focus: you have demonstrated the ability to deliver strong results and feel comfortable with sharing quick results early to improve over time. You collaborate effectively with other teams to achieve your goals.
  • Business acumen: you are familiar with financial statements and have experience with fundamental business metrics such as revenue, cost, profit, basket size, conversion, etc.
  • Strong quantitative skills: you have hands-on experience with manipulation and analysis of large data sets. Advanced SQL skills and experience with either R or Python. Fluency in Excel.
  • Communication skills: you communicate effectively with peers and stakeholders, both written and verbally. You structure your thinking in a written way to seek alignment and input.
