About The Team

Delivery speed to customers drives e-commerce. Delivery speed has consistently been shown to drive fundamental e-commerce metrics like add to cart, page views, and conversion. Being able to reliably promise and enable fast speed requires carefully choreographed activities like  placement of the product in the storefront, setting up delivery promises with carriers,  operationalizing fulfillment with the current lead times, and, last but not least, positioning inventory to optimize for selection, speed, capacity, reliability, and cost.  

The Network Management team was conceived to solve the challenging, cross-functional problems that are plentiful in a complex and flexible supply chain, and coordinate across groups to ensure that strategies, metrics, and goals are aligned. As a Sr. Analyst within Network Management, you will be asked to drive key initiatives to increase speed to customers and reduce cost to both suppliers and Wayfair. This is a unique role in Wayfair that operates at the intersection of network strategy, category planning, inventory replenishment, supply chain operations and technology.

What You'll Do

A successful Sr. Analyst of Customer Promise Network Management will:

  • Develop both short-term and long-term processes for managing constraints in the Wayfair network to preserve customer experience
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to create projections and plan for network disruptions and surge-volume events
  • Analyze network patterns using advanced statistical techniques and propose changes to senior leadership
  • Find assumptions to modify in simulation model based on changes to operational changes to the delivery network
  • Drive standardized improvements to network operations by identifying, creating and communicating key performance indicators
  • Interface with Product and Technology teams to develop net new capabilities to scale the accuracy of the customer promise’
  • Assist in root cause analysis and development of standard processes for resolving systemic issues
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and  point of contact for all questions related to customer promise

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or a Supply Chain/Operations discipline
  • 1-3 years of experience in operations, technology, consulting, strategy or finance, preferably with diverse experience
  • Proven track record of leadership, taking ownership and driving results
  • Experience managing and executing large projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and modeling, problem solving and communicating recommendations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Senior presence; able to clearly and consistently partner with a broad range of levels and functions to achieve objectives
  • Proficiency with SQL, R Studio and Python and ability to analyze large data sets to deliver clear, actionable insight
