Wayfair Berlin is now looking for a  Senior Analyst with strong attention to detail, excellent quantitative skills, and strong business acumen. You will need to have the ability to make decisions based on data and be able to look at  "the bigger picture", as well as having a cross-functional and collaborative mindset to work together with our EU Retail Analytics team. 

Role description

 As Senior Analyst, your role will be to own the central analytics for the Retail Analytics team. You will own global reporting for all Category Management, ensuring broad communication to senior stakeholders, identifying trends, highlighting growth opportunities, and running ad-hoc analyses on high-impact topics. You will also be deeply involved in managing cross-functional projects, particularly with our central Business Intelligence, Pricing, Promotions counterpart globally.

The right candidate has a passion for diving deep to retrieve/synthesize data into clear insights and actionable recommendations, and be able to translate and present those to our stakeholders. You should feel comfortable working with large datasets and rely on business acumen to form and test hypotheses. You should also have a bias for action and an avid interest in seeing our findings turned into real-life results. Initiative, proactivity, and an agile mindset will be highly appreciated.

What you’ll do

  • Report regularly to EU and worldwide top management on the evolution of Wayfair key performance indicators and drive corrective actions
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support business decision-making, surface insights from a wealth of performance data (financial, operational, and customer) to spot trends and opportunities
  • Look for ways of improving and automating our solutions, lessening the manual workload on our stakeholders
  • Help shape the long-term reporting and analytics roadmap
  • Interface with US and functional counterparts globally (Business Intelligence, Data Science, Pricing ...) to align and deliver on cross-functional projects
  • Prioritize competing interests and focus project plans on the highest impact activities

What you’ll bring

  • Degree in a quantitative science, e.g. economics, business, engineering, physics, mathematics, statistics,  or computer science, with a strong academic record
  • 2–3 years experience in a data and analytics-focused role. Additional client-facing work in e.g. consulting, start-ups, technology, banking, or strategy is a plus
  • Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills: Excel knowledge/ experience and querying language experience (SQL or Google Big Query) are a must. Knowledge of other data manipulation or statistical programs (e.g. Alteryx, SPSS) or programming languages (e.g. R, Python) is a plus
  • Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication skills. Know-how of data visualization or business intelligence software (e.g. Google Data Studio, Looker, Tableau) is a plus
  • Great attention to detail and pride in producing consistently high-quality work
  • Extremely collaborative and effective in a cross-functional and dynamic environment, ability to manage multiple, and competing priorities simultaneously
  • Positive, energetic attitude with a can-do mentality
