We’ve been busy building a best-in-class fulfillment network that allows us to delight customers by getting products closer to customers and speeding up deliveries. Wayfair’s future-state fulfillment network is expected to scale to 3x the size of today’s network by 2023. Our Transportation & Delivery Process Standardization team will be the team that enables the continuous improvement of our Transportation execution across sites, helps establish a culture of waste elimination and defect reduction across the organization, and acts as a central interface & process experts for other stakeholders across the Wayfair organization.

 

What You'll Do

  • Be critical part of building out our central Operational function - work with your manager to define needs & outputs of our stakeholders, build and execute on central Operational roadmap
  • Produce high quality forecast models- Define methodology, pull data, and build central demand and supply forecast models to support:
  • Perform ad hoc analyses - comfort performing a wide range of analyses to solve ambiguous business problems to support operations leadership, which includes:
    • Finding and pulling the right data
    • Structuring the analysis to produce the right output, making logical assumptions when necessary 
    • Building dynamic, refreshable, navigable models
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner - Form and share your perspectives on forecasting output and actions for operational leadership in partnership with your manager
  • Interact effectively with internal and external audiences - Hone, articulate, and craft the messaging around analyses outputs. Write weekly forecasting analysis consumed by the whole ISC organization. 

What You'll Need

Given the strategic and cross-functional nature of this role, a qualified candidate must have the following:

  • Ownership mindset: Ability to manage a work plan and execute analytical tasks with minimal oversight
  • Experience with advanced data aggregating and forecast modeling, problem solving and communicating recommendations
  • Analytical ability: Experience with analyzing large data sets to deliver clear, actionable insights; expert user of Excel, comfort and experience with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Data Studio, Tableau)
  • Structured problem solving skills: Ability to methodically break complex problems into smaller pieces and design solutions using a data-driven approach
  • Strong communication skills: Ability to clearly articulate output and takeaways from complex analysis to leadership and wide range of cross-functional stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience

Nice to Haves

  • Professional work experience from consulting, finance, technology, or other fast-paced environments
  • Experience with Python, advanced optimization and statistical modeling experience preferred, but not required
  • Exposure to retail, supply chain, or logistics
