Wayfair Analytics is the engine that powers an enterprise obsessed with data. This role will directly enable the growth of the Content Recommendations product at Wayfair. The Content Recommendations team is responsible for all personalization of content in all of our marketing channels including batch email, triggered sends, and storefront. The team heavily leverages Machine Learning and Data Science to recommend the most relevant content to the customer at the right time.

The analytics team leverages Wayfair’s huge datasets to inform the roadmap of content recommendations. We work in close collaboration with a high performing team of engineers, machine learning engineers/data scientists and product managers who are on the leading edge of the recommendation space. 

In this role, you can expect to design, run and analyze the results of A/B tests of new recommendation algorithms and strategies; we also develop new testing and test analysis methodologies (e.g. Bayesian A/B testing). You will work closely with product managers and engineers to define, implement, and maintain key metrics that inform the successes of our product. You will do exploratory data analysis (e.g. clustering/segmentation) to generate new insights & inform our roadmap. 

What You'll Do

  • Influence cross-functional executive leaders across the organization through communicating key insights and recommendations. You will have to persuade stakeholders with differing levels of analytical proficiency.
  • Implement and maintain tracking of key metrics, identifying trends/changes and driving improvement
  • Define the 6-12 month strategic analytics roadmap for the team, in collaboration with our stakeholders.
  • Lead a team that is responsible for executing the content recommendation analytics agenda across numerous product teams
  • Work closely and build productive relationships with our product, engineering and machine learning stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify areas where advanced analytical efforts can produce a strong value add and work them into the road map.

What You'll Need

  • Experience managing teams and cross-functional stakeholders
  • 5+ years work experience in a relevant field (in addition to any graduate education).
  • Past experience with SQL or structured computer programming language.
  • Bachelors in computer science, engineering, statistics, economics, MIS, or other quantitative discipline; Masters preferred.
  • Experience with Tableau, Python, R, SAS or BI software (SSAS, Microstrategy, Cognos) a plus.
  • Demonstrated success working with executives at the most senior level on setting analytic direction and recommendations to direct business strategy and achieve high impact results.
  • Excellent communication and data presentation skills covering objectives, plans, status, roadblocks, and results.
  • Prior experience proactively identifying areas where analytical efforts can produce a strong business value add and setting the analytics roadmap.
  • Experience designing and implementing highly visible, and innovative analytical organizations
  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills and technical abilities along with problem solving skills.
  • Experience with experimental design and/or statistical analysis to drive business decision making
