The CastleGate Forwarding (CGF) team at Wayfair is building the best-in-class digital freight forwarding platform. The Commercial excellence team within CGF is looking for a Senior Analyst to manage our origin country operations. This person will play a key role in a major CGF initiative to optimize origin operations, own performance indicators and build relationships with local carriers and port & terminals.

As an integral member of this supply chain team, you’ll be able to put your stamp on the design and execution of a very unique and proprietary furniture network as we continue to scale. We are looking for an energetic, collaborative team player, with an entrepreneurial spirit and a background in Supply Chain and Operations Innovation. This is a highly visible and exciting role for the company and one that will offer the right candidate an opportunity to lead part of one of our core supply chain function.

In this role you will:

Leadership role

  • Be responsible for overall operational performance for a specific part of Ocean Transportation.
  • Coach and develop other planners in your team.
  • Lead the identification, planning coordination and execution of operational improvements.
  • Provide peer coaching and guidance for day to day operations.

Planning role

  • Coordinate across carriers, ports, and CastleGate warehouses to ensure consistent transit time and reduce spend by building out short term views on bookings and prioritization
  • Work with partner teams to create booking visibility and ETA estimates
  • Responsible for building dashboards and reports for booking and order exceptions
  • Identify operational trends that will drive initiatives for process improvement.
  • Work with various teams, such as CastleGate Operations, CastleGate Account Managers, Carrier Performance and more, to ensure that information communicated to suppliers are consistent and accurate
  • Keep an open line of communication with the team’s business partners to ensure problems that arise follow the proper escalation path.
  • Identify and develop the right business tools (with engineering, operations and business development) to support scale up
  • Identify key performance indicators for reporting and layout process for regular and accurate reporting.

What You'll Need

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast moving environment with a certain level of ambiguity.
  • Strong analytical experience and comfort working with large data sets to identify trends and actionable takeaways.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment and managing cross-functional projects required.
  • Experience leading process improvement initiatives by successfully collaborating with multiple stakeholders and building tools & visibility solutions
  • Experience in SQL, GCP and excel modelling is a must 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – confident, assertive and ability to influence agent partners
  • Ability to work effectively with people in a cross-functional environment
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work well in a fast paced, data driven company
  • Willingness to travel to meet for working with international colleagues of ISC
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or data science. Focus on Supply Chain is preferred
