Who We Are
This squad is responsible for the Product Detail Page. One of the highest traffic pages on Wayfair. It operates with decoupled deploys, owning portions of its own infra. It is a 'platform' page, with a high number of stakeholder teams.
The job of a Senior Engineer on this team is to be responsible for portions of the teams coupled and decoupled infra, execute on experiences and capabilities projects in JavaScript, and PHP, as well as help the team re-platform in the long term to Java based microservices.
What You’ll Do
- Create new features for the PDP page
- Utilize the teams front-end decoupled deployment pipeline to deploy your code
- Help with longer term replatforming efforts (moving to federated GraphQL)
What You’ll Need
- 5+ years of experience as a full stack software engineer with experience in designing and building large platforms that communicate internally and externally via Rest services or GraphQL
- Proficiency in programming languages (Javascript/PHP), object oriented design and data structures.
- Working knowledge of SQ
- Experience with GraphQL
- Experience with Javascript, React, HTML etc. frontend technologies.
- Experience in mentoring junior engineers, leading code review and design reviews.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders.
