CastleGate Forwarding (CGF)  is a digital freight forwarding organization within Wayfair's broader CastleGate Logistics network. We offer a full suite of shipping services (Asia consolidation, ocean freight, drayage, customs brokerage, cargo insurance, etc.) that aims to provide Wayfair suppliers with competitive and convenient logistics solutions. As part of the CGF, you will play a key role in growing and executing a strategic part of our business related to clearing customs and preparing shipments for pickup at their destination. This is a highly visible and exciting role and one that will offer the right candidate an opportunity to lead a core part of our strategic vision. As you pursue operational excellence for this business line, success will be demonstrated by increasing ops productivity and decreasing negative supplier experiences while enabling the service to perform at scale.

What You'll Do

  • Support the success of our external customs brokerage operations
  • Manage the end-to-end success of our operations against key business metrics
  • Proactively identify and facilitate resolution of cross-functional operational issues with colleagues across the organization
  • Coordinate with ocean carriers, customs brokers, and overseas agents to ensure the smooth transition of freight to our drayage teams. 
  • Identify opportunities for continued improvements to our end-to-end processes
  • Manage the success of our external partners as it relates to CGF operations
  • Assist with the integration and optimization of our processes and tools with external customs brokers

What You'll Need

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – confident, concise, and ability to influence ops partners as well as leadership
  • Collaborative self-starter who is able to work in a fast-paced environment with a certain level of ambiguity
  • Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems
  • Ability to lead through influence and work effectively with people in a cross-functional environment
  • High degree of comfort using Excel and Powerpoint to work with data and communicate ideas
  • Experience in the operations/logistics/supply chain field highly preferred
  • Above average task prioritization and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines
